I also finished Driver without cheating, I was lucky though.

I hate the end sections of games, especially when they get unfairly hard. I also have a disliking for bosses in almost every game that ever was, I can't stand them.

Good examples of final 'levels' - Ico and Halo

I was strangely compelled to play the getaway all the way through. The last level when you have to escape from the Sol vita with Carter was particulary annoying. I remember battling my way through it. Struggling against the poor camera and controls. Sometimes id get outside the boat but nothing would happen. I just flipped after the nth failed attempt and decided to just run. Strangely enough just running and popping off the odd enemy worked. I didnt even get outside of the boat . Nice one Team soho

Completeing challenge 30 on Perfect Dark" has to be the most near-impossible gaming feat ever. Ask anyone that's ever tried it.

I did it though - took a few days. 8)

Attack Ship: Covert Assault on PA difficulty was a 2-day, 12 hour bitch also.

The Death Star exterior run at the end of Rogue Leader was a bastard. I'd stayed up all night before the US launch trying to finish it. I spent 5 hours on all the other levels and then 3 hours on the Death Star bit. Totally unballanced yet still very satisfying when complete.

As for Halo, that was just a little too easy in my books. Worth a play though - if only for the Warthog.

Nope. Just change into Zora Link and use that electricity attack. You'll finish the ****er in no time.

I agree, Halo had a pretty amazing ending. Not to easy, but not impossible either! It took a few goes, and got the adrenaline pumping!

The sad thing is I get a great buzz in actually completing a game, and its just horrible when you can't.

What are programmers thinking? That the game will in some way last for ever if it can't be completed???

On a similar note, has anybody actually completed Starsky and Hutch... and if so how??? It really is driving me mad....!!!!!!

You can turn into a sort of Super-Link and whip his boss-ass in no time.

I got to the final boss of Skies of Arcadia, but once he whooped me silly I realised I'd need about 4hrs worth of leveling up ft: Never stopped me with FFVII for some reason. 4 days worth of leveling up, plus I had all the limit breaks upto lv3 before I reached Junon for the first time (Aeris as well). I then took out Sephiroth in 2 hits.

I thought Return to Castle Wolfenstein had a bit of a easy end. It said thirty levels on the back of the box, I took this to mean thirty missions, not eight missions with thirty levels. So, the end sneaked up on me from no-where and before I knew it, the game was over and I'd run out of Germans to kill!!!

End of a game? Waht's that? Too many games too little time to ever think about finishing them.

Completed? WaveRace. L Mansion. Biohazard GC. Halo. DOAXBV. That's about it for the last year.

One game springs to mind: Bangai-oh

Possibly the most mental last boss I've ever had the pleasure to come across, yet you don't really have to beat him to know the game is over. He IS the final insult of a game that at no point ever takes itself seriously. And as a result you never take the game seriously. Just one look at the sick number of missiles he spews (so many your smart bomb can't even counter it!) and you realise how he is just one huge piss-take. much like the rest of the game is.

I know it's possible to beat him, but I somehow still feel satisfied that I have got to the 'end' of the game even though I haven't defeated him. Although I'd love to dream of beating him, the whole context of it all means that I just don't feel bothered at all that I haven't done so wither.

I never thought I'd beat that mofo either... until, long after I had consigned the game to the 'indefinite hold' tray, I took it out for one last go.

When he fell, it was one of the few times in gaming I've ever stood up and shouted at my tv in triumph!

I remember him! And it's not just him, either, that whole ****ing level is a ****!

I did it eventually. Took a few hours.
