I would love if they would get all three Quakes onto Live, number three is a blast.

Harldy I can play it right now onthe X-Box and its the same great game to play with the pad . Unlike the DC the X-Box/360 is more than able to handle Quake III on its pad . Sure aiming wise nothing can beat the mouse , but when it comes to moving and using buttons to jump/duck ect I find a keyboard a bloody nightmare, and find a console pad so much easier and simpler.

I hope this news it true myself and with luck will mean Unreal Tournament (for me the better than Quake III) will also come to LIVE Arcade

Can't see UT going to Live arcade what with UT3 on its way. I have no real interest in an old FPS game now, like i say UT3 is coming

Thats like saying because Quake Wars is coming there's little point in Quake III coming to the 360 (if its true of coruse ) I say bring them on , sometimes the old ones are best and I'll gladly pay ?5 quid odd to play the likes Quake III over LIVE Arcade .

I just wish SEGA grew a brain and ported some onthe DC online games (like AFO, VO II) over to LIVE Arcade

Aren't the gameplay styles of Quake 3 and Quake Wars completely different though? One a fast paced competitve shooter whilst the other has more in common with the tactical team shooters, CS, GRAW etc. At least that's the impression I've had from the glances of Quake Wars I've seen.

UT3 on the other hand is the latest in the franchise so I doubt we'd see UT purely because Epic will want the focus to be on their new title.

Anyway, I'd like a portion of Rocket Arena to go with my Quake 3 please

ET:QW is pretty different compared to the Quake series - it's much more akin to RTCW/Enemy Territory, which both play quite differently compared to the likes of Q3A. UT3 however is pretty much UT with some new graphics and weapons though, isn't it? Unless someone can tell me otherwise...

Bah.. it's all about twitch aiming, fast turning and bunny-hopping around the place at crazy speeds. Easily adapted to play on a joypad, but it loses a lot. Why wait for a 360 arcade version when you can jump in to the proper ones?

I still have the PC version installed, its been installed on every PC since I bought it and I haven't played the thing for years

Let's face it you only need a mouse for aiming the Railgun The splash damage on the Rocket launcher meant you aimed at your opponents feet rather than at them. And the shotty and plasma never demanded much accuracy, if you had to resort to anything else you're pretty much fecked anyway

UT3 is miles away from UT. Maps are much, much bigger and vehicles play a central role in the majority of maps and gametypes.

Kinda, UT 2004 did feel different to the original because they had wider terrain and vehicles, but the core gameplay still remained. It just felt as though the way the game had controlled in UT and 2k3 was just placed in larger environments. UT also had fairly large maps itself compared to Q3.

I'm not a big fan of fps's, but Quake3 on the Dreamcast was one of my favourite games. I used to play it for hours and hours. Multiplayer rocked!

I haven't played a deathmatch game that I've enjoyed more. The visuals, level design, music, voice-over etc... They're all classic.

If they can get the controls feeling good, and the visuals nice and smooth, I'll download it.
