....erm.......is it a late April fool?

    surely it must be.

I thought the majority of the gaming public thought, like me, that the PS3 is a grotesquely uncouth LUMP of a console with all the aesthetics of half a house brick.

Yet this review is so over-the-top skewed in the other direction that Camps is either a Sony sleeper cell, or being bribed with the offer of Kutragi's old job.

Sure, the PS3 might have the face that only a mother could love, but there's no denying - IMO - that it knocks the 360 build quality into a cocked hat.

Interesting feature. It's refreshing to read a more objective take on the console, I wouldn't have gone so far as to say it was "Good Looking" but if has a real feeling of power and quality. I think Monolith is appropriate!

The vast majority of NTSC-uk reader are multiformat gamers, and the arrival of a new console is a thing of great excitiment and anticipation. What will the new hardware allow games to achieve? What is there to look forward to? I think the article brings that across, and as a PS3 owner the views reflect many of my own.

The dust issue is quite amazing! I wonder if some sort of anti static cloth would help! It's silly that Sony has allowed that to happen.

Anyway, as console hardware goes, the PS3 is a thing of technological beauty and the launch games are so smooth, you could be forgived to think they are hardly pushing the hardware at all.

I'm sure that now the price is falling, lots more of us will be able to enjoy the machine too.

The PS3 IMO is a real thing of beauty. Its an amazing piece of technology and while many people will continue to insist it costs to much, when you get one home you know instantly were that extra money has gone esspecially in comparison to the 360.

When it comes to hardware quality the shoddy unrealiable 360 isnt even a contender to the PS3, both great machines overall but the PS3 has that extra quality.

I just had to carry mine back to the office through town in the searing heat.

                Not a fun experience.

A nice read. It mirrors my feelings on opening the box.

I'll admit it took a while to get used to its looks but now it doesn't seem too bad at all. There's probably a touch of a shiny fetish developing within me though.

Certainly is - even the usually reliable soft microfiber cloths fail big style and just seem to add more on.

Best thing I've found is some of the thicker microfiber cloths made slighly damp with a very small ammount of glass cleaner. Takes the dust off and makes it a shiny as you're ever going to see it again once its been out of the box.

Ha! I get exactly the same thing with my Sharp Aquos telly. I have no idea why Jap manufacturing has developed a festish for glossy black cases.

                      Stroller.

Still looks like a futuristic bread bin to me.

I think its had a bad rap as far as looks go. Ok when you see it for the 1st time the thing that springs to mind is "Holy**** thats huge!" Buts its grown on me. I like the shinyness and the rounded top and even the fact that the front over hangs so you can't reach the USB ports, its all part of its beauty. I'm not going to open up the debate of whether its better then the 360 or not but i think given time and a good run of games and hardware it will be an awesome bit of kit.

The console itself is a thing of beauty imo....as long as it stands vertical. It is a very well made piece of kit.

Which makes the decisions behind the piece of garbage they call the controller even more confusing. It's like they were made by two different companies and bundled together.
