I'm stunned you gave FF four stars without the two-player option and without Guy. Even back in the day, I thought this SNES conversion was half-assed. It's decent but, seriously, there's no Guy.

C'mon mate it's a great conversion aside from those two things. It is a big shame but once you get over that it's AAA all the way!

C'mon mate it's a great conversion aside from those two things. It is a big shame but once you get over that it's AAA all the way!

It's a good conversion I agree, but is it still a great game? I'm not so sure. Bare Knuckle 2 and 3 are way better in my opinion, with much better fighting systems and more variety in the gameplay.

It is still great yes. Duddy gave FF 4 stars out of 5 which I think is fair. It is really only the lack of 2 player mode and missing Guy that lets it down imho. SOR1 got 4 stars too. I can tell you now SOR2 will be 5 stars when it lands on the VC!

The jury is still open on SOR3, personally I don't think it's as good as SOR2.

I agree, still a class game on the SNES.

The fact you have to restart an entire level when you use a continue is far more annoying.

Bring on Final Fight 2 and Streets of Rage 2.

This is from memory, but I'm pretty sure the second FF player was omitted due to some appalling slow-down/flicker (which, as we all know, the SNES suffered from quite badly early on until developers got to grips with the machine).

Guy, and certain areas (One level? Can't remember), were simply left out due to a lack of space on the cart.

Think that's right. Someone will doubtless correct me if not.
