Helicopters are hella aces and when they pop up in videogames they can really steal the show. Personal favourites include the choppers in BF2, Viewtiful Joe and the one in the new Transformers game.

I remember some Dr. Robotnik had some chopper style gadgets.

Yeah, I remember when Ridge Racer was on Gamesmaster, the helicopter popped into view rather awkwardly so the dude with the mic goes "ooh! Nice chopper!" to which Dom Diamond instantly responded "thankyou!". lolz.

The one at the start of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Deset Strike was/is the nuts.

Sniping the pilot of the helicopter on level 2 of Soldier Of Fortune, and the first time i destroyed a police chopper with a rocket in GTA 3 were stand out gaming moments for me!

Other helicopter highlights include; Metal Slug, Shinobi, the hugely underrated Thunderhawk 2 and Alex Kidd In Miracle World.

I think in a later patch for Battlefield Vietnam there were some great little bubble head helicopters. Nothing like getting a squad up in a chopper and blasting out some tunes in that game.
