Kameo is pretty good too, generic zelda-wannbe it may be, but its worth a punt at low price.

Definately - I picked it up from shopto.net for ?9.99, well worth it.

Oh yes, of course. Completely forgot about this. Although a bit short, i'ts definitely worth picking up at the prices it goes for now.

just download a bunch of demos and work on them.

I'll give another vote for Kameo, very good game once you get into it imho. I'd also go for PGR3, Crackdown and Condemned as great games that you can play in reasonably short bursts.

I seem to have gone through pretty much every emotion possible with Kameo. At the very start, I hated it as there is no tutorial (tutorial is after the first level where you're expected to perform the advanced techniques with almost no help) and its the most visually uninspiring and depressing level possible.

After that initial level, there are some genuinely jaw-dropping vistas and moments of sheer scale and granduer. I was expecting a platformer so was a little dissapointed to find it was a cross between a scrolling beat-em up and a dungeon adventure crawl, but somehow perserved to the end and I'm now glad I did. It's only now that I'm attempted the achievements for the A ranks that it finally gels - its very much a score based combo brawler where clever use of different elemental forms is really rewarded. Thoroughly recommended but be prepared to stick with it.
