Me and Ono got them from Geldra. He hasn't any others though, sorry. =/

    So there is:

    TnT1 & Tatacon
    TnT Doki (mid-price)
    TnT2
    TnT3 (to come)
    ?

    Is that right?

I've just started my collection of controllers and with the near purchase of a PS2 I can't wait to get my hands on the pop'n'music one. Ever since I saw that video someone posted of that mad player I've wanted one so I can see how impossible that level of difficulty is

So far all ive got is the GC soul calibur II stick and the (crappy)UK Beatmania PSX controller. At first I thought it was me being crap at beatmania but seeing as someone posted its the controllers fault I can blame it on that now hehe

looks like I haven't missed out, I got the original boxset with the controller second hand for something like ?45 a few months ago...

but I am interested in the sequels.

          I thought Doki == TnT2?

I also thought TnT3 wasn't actually called that, but had a subtitle like Doki.

Its a cool game, but I was a little disappointed with it after Samba, I have to say.

A more diverse set of songs would certainly help.

Yup. Taiko No Tatsujin 2 is the same thing as Taiko No Tatsujin Doki!.

Yeah. It's Taiko No Tatsujin Appare Sanyome (太鼓の達人 あっぱれ三代目). So, Taiko No Tatsujin Admirable 3rd Generation (according to the fish) or Taiko No Tatsujin 3 .

            Later.

TnT2 contains only new songs. None from the original. (Apart from Williem Tell Overture, which was part of a medley in the original, here you get a longer version.) TnT2 is a stand-alone game, so it'll work even if you don't have the original or the controller. Tho there's not much point in playing it without the Tatacon.

              Later.

                  The Pop'n'music video is here:

Whats Tam Tam Paradise like? How do you wear the two controllers?

I really wouldn't bother with shakkato tambourine unless you like twee j-pop. It's practically the same game as Samba, except it doesn't look as nice and the music isn't as good.

The 'dual action' (hit and shake) of the tambourine is the only interesting change they've made to it.

Shame, a DC port of the original arcade version would have been much better, rather than this cut down psone version with licensed Mini Moni only soundtrack.

You can either play Tam Tam Paradise with the controllers strapped to your legs (one per leg) or stuck on this soft plastic board. Its not a bad game for the 12 quid (I think) that play-asia have it for. Its let down by the cheap nature of the controllers - they don't depress in the middle, just on the edge, which would be ok but they are quite small, making it difficult to get a clean contact.

I quite like the J-Pop of shakkato tambourine, I guess this makes me a big jessy.

Whats the language barrier for the bus & train games like?

Anyone got the Karaoke Bemani game with the mic?

                      How does it work?

Don't get me wrong, its not terrible, its just not as good as Samba. Having only Mini Moni on there makes it all a bit too samey. That damn telephone song is lodged in my brain, being in the first Taiko game aswell.

Mini Moni telephone ring! a-ring! ding! DING!

                        aaaaargh....

Er... Densha de Go and Tokyo Bus Guide? Not too bad. You need to figure out menus for both games, Densha is a little more complicated in that way.

Tokyo Bus Guide has a really weird back story where you get to listen to people's conversations as they get on and off the bus, so you miss all of that too.

Unless you were asking about something else entirely

I was just wondering - are you sure you're using the controllers properly?

You only need to do a short, sharp tap with your fingers to register contact (a bit like drumming your fingers on the desk). You don't necessarily have to depress the pads. I took me a while to realise this when I first got them.

Thanks, it sounds like they can go on my shopping list.

Anybody know where you can get the para para paradise controller from? I've found somewhere that does the full on arcade machine (and will import to the UK) but I don't have room for it ft:

www.ncsx.com have some in stock at the moment, but I've never ordered anything big from them, so I don't know how it would work out with postage and customs.

                                Cheeky

They seem hinged in the middle (The semi circle pads at the top) so you can't depress them properly there, and it doesn't seem to register my press there either.

Thanks for the link, I saw this:
