Elkatas productions proudly presents: Videogame song challenge from hell
Feeling bored or that you are not geeky enough? No worries, elkatas's "videogame song challenge from hell" is perfect way to waste few hours, and raise your own personal geek rating.
Sounds great. How do I try it?
I have gathered 150 different MP3 samples from various video- and computer games, and stored them into 17 MB big archive that is currently located in Rapidshare*. Your mission is to try to solve to which game each unlabeled sample belongs to. Some of them are relatively easy to recognise, others can be *very* hard. You have one week to solve samples before I'm going to post complete song list on this same thread. Notice that there is no two samples from same game.
But why you are doing this?
Well, first of all, I'm extremely bored, and I though this could be funny distraction. Secondly, I have always wondered how well you guys actually remember tunes that you have heard in videogames.
Protip 1: None of these songs are random remixes.
Protip 2: If game was released for pre-PSX system, it simply can't have high quality, orchestrated pieces.
* Sorry, I couldn't think any other place to host this...
I did this same test for Penny-Arcade forums. They were able to identify 108 songs from the list. I personally believe that you guys are able to do far better.
