PC Games?

Ive not played any PC games in years imo its pretty much a load of dung, but i have a new computer with all the wizzy and im prepared to try some games, so whats good out there of recentish times, i want stuff with good graphics basically and action, no soppy rpg or ropey strategy long winded crap.....maybe some FPS not on consoles?

Quake 4 and Prey are both worth getting. I?d also check out Company of Heroes - best rts since Red Alert 2 imo.

FEAR + Expansion if you didnt pick it up on a console. New command and conquer too.

Why don't you try Rome Total War or the sequel Medieval Total War II?

I really liked Rome, but I'm really quite poor at strategy games and I gave up after being presented with a can of Whup-Ass (TM) by the Egyptians.

Stalker (reviewed on ntsc) and Company of Heroes are among the best PC games for a while imo, both well worth checking out.

Stalker is pretty good. Takes a while to get going but it certainly is worthwhile. Only if your PC is really good though mind.

Thanks for the suggestions given the demos of FEAR & Quake 4 a wizz so far was quite impressed.

Battlefield 2 - The best mult-player FPS the PC has.
Black & White 2 - Brillant and beautiful town building game.
Half Life 2 - Fantastically atmospheric FPS. It will linger in your mind.
Unreal Tournament - The oldest and the best.
Deus Ex - One of the greatest games ever made.

I can't get into counter strike at all. I used to play it years ago and loved it, but since it hasn't really grabbed me at all. I prefer FEAR online for it's more realistic action and smoke and carnage. If they could somehow combine the two it would make the perfect shooter for me

I'd recommend Oblivion even if you don't like RPG's - too good for words.

Stalker is decent as well. And Half Life 2 of course.

Trying to think of something else no one has mentioned though, supreme commander was good(ish).

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, if you can still find it anywhere. Make sure you patch the hell out of it, though, because it's pretty buggy straight out of the box. Even so, it's easily the best FPS/RPG genre-blender since Deus Ex. Play as a Malkavian for greatest effect... the dialogue is awesome.
