    Forsaken 64

I have this as an unboxed cart bought from ny local Gamestation many moons ago... anyway, no manual, so does anybody know how the hell I save my progress?!?

    Thanks...

You need a memory card... from there it is pretty obvious.

      Yes, very funny...

I do indeed have a memory card, a third party one, which may be the problem. The game does not give me the option to save at the end of each stage, though curiously it does give an option to load a saved game.
Now if I had a saved game...

My crappy memory card isn't recognized by Wipeout 64 when that game boots up - I have to manually load the game settings. That's why I think it may be the problem. Could it be that the mem card is initialising at booting up, so that the N64 is not recognising anything there (it's one of those cheap large capacity ones with the switch at the back that GAME/EB used to sell)?

Sorry dude, didn't mean to come across like... how you thought I'd come across? I assumed you didn't have a memory card...

Ah well - dunno about those switch jobbies, only have official ones myself. I remember it allowing a save after completing a mission, which (IIRC) I thought was a couple of stages.

I shall check for you when I get home...

Hello mate - yup, I was correct above. You need to complete a mission fully and then you're prompted to save. You can also restore a different save too and the checkpoints between missions.

If it ain't saving, I'd say your card was buggered.

            Right on Commander

Goddamit, I think the mem card is indeed very dodgy - I don't ever get an option to save, either at checkpoints or at the end of each mission... buggerittohell. Guess I'll need to secure a new, preferably official, one from somewhere... stinky old Gamestation here we come... or maybe the local CEX....

            Thanks for the info mate!
