    Gaming Magazines

Haven't bought a gaming mag in ages.

Usually get Gamesmaster at Christmas or something and enjoy it...even if it is a little bit....you know.

So, I'm looking for some recommendations on what to pick up.

I like to read in short burst, usually on THE BOG. So, articles longer than a few pages is probably a no, no. Short, sharp bursts is what it's all about (ironically so is my waste dumping).

I would prefer something multi platform, but will listen to 360 only recommendations as well. Retro gaming is also a plus. Not interested at all in playable/no playable dvd or free gifts etc.

    What are you reading?

GamesTM is the fav for me atm. They're subscription is dead cheap compared to shop price, and they always deliver on content.

EDGE & Games TM (maybey official playstaion mag as well) are the only real choices, all the reast are quite frankly embarassing.

Gamestm for me too. Has a good balance of serious tone and fun. Perfect otterbox reading for me.

I tend to stick to EDGE, Retro Gamer and GamesTM for my lunch time reading at work.

Anything that's not by future publishing for me. I used to buy the old official Nintendo magazine because the writing style from the old guys was great, it had a humorous sarcastic edge to it and you could tell they were gamers, which I liked. Now Future Publishing make the magazine as part of their quest to monopolies.

                Moan over.

Only mags i read nowdays are japanese ones as the standard of uk mags is now so bad i refuse to hand over ?4-5 for glossy bog roll.

Only ones i tend to read are Nintendo dream & Famitsu wii + DS

GamesTM is pretty decent but to me Edge has lost something these days.

Prob my 2 faves at the moment are Retrogamer & US magazine Play (which feels more like a British mag than a US publication). Mainly because they're well put together and the enthusiasm of the writers shines through.

I pick up one or two of them occasionally but I have an Edge subscription as I find it far more interesting than the others.

I've always gone with Games TM, as it dosn't get up it's own backside in it's analysis of games. Treats the subject at exactly the right level.

Plus the reto section is always brilliant.
