Blue Dragon a 6 and gamestm gave it a 9. I hate that type of discrepancy because it means I have to actually read the text to see whether or not I'll like it.

A 6 for Blue Dragon?? Lol, even if they'd given Lair a 9 I'd have paid it no attention based on that score.

I bet they rubbished the visuals too.

Come on, they even gave Tenchu Z a 6 and that was a crock of ****e.

I'm sure it just depends on the individual reviewer, that sort of RPG is hardly a consensus builder..

Can anyone give a brief outline of their reasons for scoring Blue Dragon a 6?

Even from the demo, it seemed to me to be absolutely fantastic. Still can't wait to get the full game but interested to hear their perspective.

Maybe they just dislike JRPGs/anime in general because they aren't "British" enough. Then again, it wouldn't explain Zelda's 9.

I seem to remember they really liked FF12 and it was even in the Top 10 of their recent 100 best games feature.

They said FFXII was the 8th best game EVAR!!1 recently, too.

Having not read the review - yet - I'm willing to bet that they probably didn't like the fact that it doesn't really do an awful lot different from the other JRPG's out there.

They gave it a 9/10 and it was also their game of the year that year.

And thoroughly deserved IMO.
