So is pad destruction insured with this ? or have they some how modified the controls to fit in more with these very expensive modern pads

You can either use buttons (which are configurable) to run, or waggle the analog stick/d-pad left and right.

This game is just as great as it was back in the day. If you can qualify for the events on the 3rd loop, it's just a question of how long can your arm hold out as it doesn't get any harder beyond that My only complaint is that the "Chariots of Fire" music has been stripped-out.

I hope they release Hyper Sports too.

I just cant see past the buttons for this game but am afraid I am going to ruin the pad or (As happenend with the PS1 T&F game) it will slip out of my hand because of the sweat and smash on the floor

For the High Jump, you want to push the button to take off with a angle roughly around 80 degrees then hammer the run buttons/waggle the stick to increase height. Hold down the angle button again once you reach the highest point of the jump and you should drift over the bar.

The game has a few issues methinks, I failed the hammer throw on the 2nd loop and I still got to do the high jump, failed the high jump on the 3rd loop and still got to the 4th loop. Ranked 47 in overall rankings now, not that I cheated or anything

You earn an extra life every 100,000 points. As long as you have one in reserve, you can fail an event and keep playing.

the flipping 100m dash achievment is glitched for me

have a sub 10 sec time on it and no achievement boo!

only that and the hammer one to go...
