I imagine the spelling mistakes would be gone from Ace Attorney

Nope, they just took out the Japanese. It forces English on boot.

heh thin box ftw but is the fact that you cant select japanese seriously the only difference in the english version?

Only difference bud. JPN is generally cheaper too.

I think the first one has 'better' English doesn't it? I played the first on a UK cart, the 2nd on a Jap, and the first had much more funny turns of phrases and plays on words, which I can only assume were edited afterwards? (I could be completely wrong!)

The only difference is that the Japanese option is taken out of the Western versions. It'd be pointless editing the text considering the games are budget titles.

Be warned that part 4 has no English option whatsoever.

yeah saw that. searched the games on play-asia and the first three games were listed as "best price". is this some kind of budget release or is that just play-asia's advertising?

The first three titles are re-releases of the original GBA games, with part 1 having an extra DS-only 5th case bolted onto the end. "Best Price" is just another name for a budget title. You can get part 1 as a non "Best Price", but parts 2 and 3 are "Best Price" only.

                            Nope.

Ace Attorney & Ace Attorney: Justice For All use, by and large, the same english translation used in Gyakuten Saiban 1 & 2.

There are typos and spelling mistakes in the Ace Attorney games.
