sorry if this seems a dodge question but how do you guys find out about all these games in the first place? my japanese ds game collection only extends as far as Jump Superstars and Bleach: Souten ni Kakeru Unmei. Also how do you manage to play so many of them? I love Jump Superstars but it does get annoying having to sit near a computer just so i can see what the objectives are... maybe i should learn japanese

oh yeah importaku, is project rub (whatever its called in japanese) any different? i played english version through ages ago and i think it was fun. i can imagine it wouldnt be too hard to understand as i cant remember much text in the game.

Well, I've always played Japanese games so I have a good idea of what's available that way. I check the import stores, and forums, and talk with other JPN DS fans (like Jason) to discuss and see what is coming out. The big name Super Mario etc games make up a lot of my collection, which are games you'll already have heard of.

With games such as Densetsu no Stafi 4 or Guru Guru Nagetto you are buying blind a lot of the time, as there is no domestic release and not many westerners have played them. I've own two real turkeys in Pokemon Dash and Tenchu Dark Shadow, but you can generally get the basic idea of a game from the internet before it's released. I only paid £8 for the pair of those two sealed anyway, and I knew they weren't very good before I parted with my cash.

Unless a game is very text heavy or actually reliant on text you can generally work out how to play it for yourself or by chatting with someone else who has it and swapping tips etc. Sometimes working out how to play something is as much fun as actually playing it once you know what you're doing. Mawa****e Touch Panic for instance.

Jeezis, 50 games eh? I have roughly 15 for my DS, 5 or so are Jap...though I've owned a lot more more, bit of an obsessive trader me.

I'm guessing it's the thrill of buying and stacking them on their own little shelf, I'm like that with Zappa and his 60+ albums. It does feel like you're getting some sort of rad artefact through the post too. Taiko DS came through my door recently and the excitement nearly triggered me to buy Ouendan 2.

The game case in question is this one http://penguinunited.com/proddetail.php?prod=PU012

It holds 25 games in its pages like a trading card binder it looks pretty cool but i dont know if they will ship abroad. From the look of their checkout page they dont have united kingdom but they do have england listed. Might give them a try as its only $10 for one.

As or how i find out about games i usually use either play asia to look for interesting titles then use their webpage links to find out more about them. For the obscure stuff i sometimes have to do japanese web searches to find info on the titles if there no english info available.

www.nintendo.co.jp is a good place to start as they usually have the full release schedule of both 1st party & 3rd party ds games, but its not in english so you might struggle a bit working out which title is what but an online translator should help you out a bit.

As importaku said it's coming out here (but not for the US as apparently he goes down stateside like diarrhoea in a diving suit).

It's out here the end of this month in fact

edit: in fact, it's out this Friday!
