    Next gen Snowboarding games?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any new snowboarding games on the horizon? It seems a little strange that there has been no mention of any (aside from SSX Blur). I've usually always enjoyed these type of games and would love one for my PS3 - so any news? I did a quick google search but nobody seems to be any the wiser! All I could see was something on ign.com about a 'Shaun White Snowboarding' game - did that ever come to anything?

    Cheers

    Dan

id imagine there is bound to be a shaun white sowboarding game in the near future, how can one of the worlds top boarders not get a game when tony hawks seems to get about 6 iterations a year ?

but as far as im aware no next gen games have been anounced

Amped 3 is fantastic, although it is more forgiving than the previous two games. The chances of an Amped 4 are slim since Indie Built closed and Take 2 are unlikely to take a chance on a series that has never really shifted a lot of units.

I don't think 1080 Avalanche sold very well either. It seems Snowboarding games are on the wain .

Maybe EA have something up their sleeve - like a snowboarding game similar in style to 'SKATE' - or a new SSX?

Was Excitetruck successful? If so, I would have thought a 1080 Wii would have been on the cards.

I don't know, but I picked my copy up very cheap after launch. I suspect Waverace might come before 1080.

Well, there was SSX Blur on the Wii, but I didn't go a bundle on that - just didn't quite work as far as I was concerned.

              Excite Truck rocks though

              Just found this:

              http://www.gaming-age.com/news/2006/2/13-21

But it seems to be about 18 months old and I can't see anything on Ubisoft's website about it

Aye Amped3 is class if you have a 360 !!!

SSX next gen is a given - they just pumped out that wii one didn't they and followed with NBA:Homecourt I'd hazard SSX will surface at the next big industry show.

By Christ it could be a thing of utter beauty !!

I bet we'll see a 1080 game that uses the WiiFit board.

I'd rather use my thumbs though.

In an news piece late last season in (I think?) Whitelines, Shaun white was talking about his game. Not heard any thing on it before or since though, so could be dead by now.

you what Amped 3 was horrific, it killed the genius of Amped 2, turned it into a button masher, no need to press to grind, you didn't need to land straight.. the list goes on and on..

Amped 2 is in my top 5 games ever (i have played '000's), required skill, and when you slammed it was because YOU messed up..

I can understand why they dumbed it down (money), but they should have left an option for the original (and by far the best) control method.

There was a big conversation on xbox.com about it, and the dev was answering question, trying to justify it to the hardcore players (which don't have the sales base), but he even knew they had killed it.

If you want a very challenging rewarding game, with so much scope for lines/rides and general arseing around Amped 2 is the game for you.

As someone who never played Amped 1 or 2, I thought Amped 3 was a heck of a lot of fun ... but I understand your annoyance.

Totally agree, t'was also in my top 5, (well top 10 maybe, but still...) went out and bought Amped 3 as soon as I got my 360 without looking for reviews as 'it could only be better', but was horribly disappointed in the controls, as you say dumbed down to the point of there being no point. Pity really, as I really loved all the wacky stop-motion presentation. Edge gave it 7/10 IIRC, but I'd say more like 5/10, whereas #2 was certainly an 8 or 9 for me.

Had SSX Blur for a spell on the Wii, but didn't really click with me. The nunchuk controls work well, especially the lean to carve, but could not see the point of all that 'wave the wiimote around to draw the move' control - guess they were pushed to release early on and that was the best they could come up with in the dev time available.

The ideal boarding game for me would be Amped 2 but with next-gen visuals (#3 actually wasn't all that next-gen looking IMHO) and with much better online multiplayer. If Amped 4 ever were to surface I would hope they'd go back to basics on it.

I'm all for Sega dusting off a classic, improving the graphics a bit and re-releasing Steep Slope Sliders as a cheapy on the Wii.

It'll be money, especially if they get it in before Nintendo announce the inevitable 1080 sequel. Yeah, i'm living in a dreamworld.

I loved Amped 3, really great fun from start to finish and much more in line with it's extreme sports peers in terms of difficulty and controls.
I remember the first time the mountain zoomed in/out over 18 months ago, mint.
Twas also the game that got me hooked on da gamerscore
