I'm a cynical old spoilsport when it comes to special / limited editions . The stuff they give away is generally nothing special and it's almost all bound to end up stuffed in a box somewhere along with all the other useless (probably game-related) tat you don't need but keep hanging onto anyway. I can't think of any SE's in recent times where the extras actually added any real value to what you'd get with the standard retail version.
TBH I think they're little more than a way of encouraging people to pre-order. It's no secret that most new releases make nearly all of their sales / money within the first couple of weeks on release, whereafter they decline rapidly due to things like pre-owned copies becoming available.
