Metal Gear Solid was probably the most atmospheric all-nighter I pulled.

I was at EB for midnight release and caned it through that absolutely freezing February night at my mate's unheated flat until the sun came up (which coincided with the sun coming up in-game after the last boss jeep chase).

I hated the game at the time so traded it in at 9am.

I've had a few boozy friday night all nighters on Xbox Live with mates, but as far as single player gaming goes, I don't like to rush through and see a game out in a day or two, so I tend to just play from 10pm till 1 or 2am on a big new release. The last single player game to keep me up properly all night was Championship Manager 97/98!

I find stuff like WoW and FFXI very addictive, but I seriously stop enjoying those games after four or five straight hours, so they'd have no chance.

I've had one or two all nighters on FFXI - either due to a 2am party invite or because there was noone around to camp an NM I was after.

There's probably been other instances, one of particular note was an all night PSP/DS session waiting for the asda I was queuing outside of to open on the 360's launch day (no pissing midnight opening). Very cold/wet with only Animal Crossing and Castlevania that I can remember to keep me occupied.

I pulled a couple during Shenmue back in the DC heyday.

Championship/Football Manager has always been another that is so addictive once you get into it, causing many an all-nighter to occur.

The closest I get now is handheld games, haven't got a setup to allow all-night console gaming at the moment as my consoles are in the living room. Once I move house and they are back in my room, then I'm sure the new Pro Evo will be rift for some all-night multiplayer.

I'm not sure if you'd call them all-nighters or just a change of sleeping arrangements, but I used to regularly go to a friends flat, normally not turning up until 11pm when he finished work. We'd then work in shifts, alternating between PC and PlayStation playing games until it got light, then I'd go home and sleep 'til noon.

I remember a big portion of that time was when Gran Turismo 2 came out, one person would be on the PC playing whatever was flavour of the week, the other would be finely tuning their car on their memory card. Then we'd have an hour or so of races, just so we could watch the beasts in the replays. Mine = Turbo Charged GTO, his = NA Skyline.

            Great days

              I have had many!
Not for awhile since I've been with my wife, She go mental.

Miss the days I get in my from work on friday and be up till Saturday 10am.
Or even work nights I be up till 2-3am and have to be up at 7am!

This was mainly on games like Counter-Strike, the days when it was in Beta, real early.
Me and my brother take turns on a rubbish 56k dial up. Loving it... Pure loving it.
Also on Q3 trying to be one best duelers and wanting to go pr0 lol.

So i suppose mainly online gaming.
I rang in sick for a day off to play HL2 on release and that was fun!
All night and all day, completed it.
Never really done all nighters on console unless it was Mario Kart or Fusion Frenzy 4 player sessions with friends till 6am!

Ive done alot of em though in past, so can't remeber them all or what game!

Resi 2 and 4 were all-nighters for me when they first came out. And at the height of my Silent Hill fandom I would often spend a whole night playing all the way through SH2 from start to finish.

On a similarly horrific note, my most recent all-nighter was Dead Rising

I did a few back in my WoW days, but I did go to bed during the day, so I'm not sure of that counts as I wimped out.

Not since the days of Goldeneye, Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask. Completing Ocarina Of Time through the night being a highlight, I just couldn't put the thing down.

I have had lots over the years, but the most recent was basically a two day lan party with about 2 hours sleep the whole weekend, and only basically cause i was so pissed that i fell asleep in the chair when i was getting some 4am munchies.

awesome it was though, I'll have to get another organised soon!

I've been to the I series a couple of times, so by default have pulled a few all nighters there. Typically Counter Strike, TFC and Battlefield 2. And a bit of WoW (I went to a massive lan party and played a mmo, wtf?).

My worst is definately TFC on the PC - used to play from about 8pm to 6am, sleep until 9am then get to work for 10am. Repeat several days in a row!

I completed Halo2 in one sitting on day of launch, and I think I did the same for Doom on the Playstation too (linkup coop).

These days the latest I play to is about 11pm

Only really the epics which cause me to stay up until the wee hours like Zelda, Resident Evil etc. Lately it's been Halo and Halo 2 on legendary in preparation for Halo 3.

Immediately remember Resi 1 on the PS1 with pleny of diet coke, and more than enought stimulated all nighters round at friends houses - mainly some epic Virtua Tennis on DC sessions, Super Monkey Ball on the GC.

All nighter, I wish.. I would love to play Bioshock all night.
My partner would leave me! She already complains when she can hear the fans on my laptop when I'm playing games from 11pm to 1am. Then I'm on the DS or PSP for another hour and up at 7 ish for work. If it wasn't for Foosh mints I would be completely knackered!
