And further to that list Animal Crossing did not make the UK till roughly 2 years later.

I am firmly in the camp of where are the games, but this ALWAYS happens the year after launch.

Look at the 360 and the PS3, the quality 360 games are starting to show up now (after close to 2 years), the PS3 is also lacking (more than Nintendo) with good must own games.

Twas back in the days before play-asia and co , when your only options were Uk based import sites and Liksang and their very expensive shipping and import tax.
The days when Goblin games ran off with everyone's money, the days when a 59 block memory card cost ?35....

        ooooh the memories

          Absolutely agree mate.

Like i've said in other threads, actually being able to share my passion with my loved ones feels like a dream come true. For the misses to be actually interested and excited about my wii - sorry, our wii - feels a little too good to be true. Pretty much all her friends have one now and mine too (all aged between 25-40). With Mario coming soon, and Wii Fit coming out next year, we can only expect sales to grow and grow.

I don't think there has been a massive shortage of games, like elkatas so rightly points out the lineup hasn't been all that bad. There's still plenty of titles coming and still plenty to play. I love all my consoles and i adore the different franchices on all platforms, but i can't help feel Nintendo deserve this. It's great to be able to mention Nintendo without inducing a tut or a sneer.

I too take my hat off... They've done the impossible imo.

Is it time to visit our next gen predictions thread from last year, yet? OMG, was I wrong.

Amazing scenes, all hail Nintendo etc etc. But I'd be interested to see how the respective machine's attach rates compare. Most of the non (new?) gamers I know who bought a Wii only use it to play Wii Sports. Console sales are good for Nintendo's short-term profitability, and will undoubtedly encourage third-party support, but if game sales don't match publisher expectations for that size user base the Wii bubble will eventually burst.

That is a good point. However Wii Play, Big Brain Academy and Mario Party have all done well also.

I can imagine the attach rate for something like the PS3 being a lot lower than Wii as a lot of people seam to be useing the PS3 as a cheap Blu Ray player (myself included).
