    Stuntman (Demo)

Just downloaded the demo from marketplace and it's quite promising so far. The demo lets you play through 3 stages, 2 from an Earthquake/Disaster movie and one from a James Bond style spy thriller.

Had a brief go on each of the levels and have to say its peaked my interest somewhat.

I never played the PS2 original so can't comment if it's better/worse than that. If I had to compare it to anything it reminds me of the crash mode in Burnout only expanded alot more.

Graphics are alright nothing too fancy going on here, but it does run really smoothly, no signs of slowdown or framerate drops.

Will probably pick this up depending on how many movies they plan on including as I can imagine it would get old pretty quick once you'd finished each one. Probably one for the scorehounds to hammer, especially if they have Leaderboards and such. Hope it gives you the option to edit your own scenes as well as some of the replays dont seem to use the best shots at times.

I played this last night and I enjoyed it, certainly has that 1 more try factor. Graphics are only ok, which is a shame because the PS2 one looked great at the time (different dev though I think) plays kinda like burnout and tony hawk's mutant love child. I imagine people will be not too keen on the handling, which is very light.

Also I personally saw lots of slowdown, not game breaking though, so I guess it doesn't matter. You are right though, they need to sort the replays out, for a game that is all about creating cool sequences, the replays are very poor.

Thought the replays were the best bit - That and the directors voice coming through the headset which worked really well.

The problem is the same as the PS2 one though - as a game template it's just not satisfying - repeating the same sequences over & over again then moving on to the next - very 90's gameplay imo reminds me of Cobra Command on the Mega-CD in that respect though obviously with a lot more freedom.

It'll get lost amongst the other quality drivers - I'm surprised it's being made to be honest !

agree with yoshimax, i don't think it matters how shiney or polished they make or how good a job they do with this, the basic design template sucks and just isn't as satisfying to me as a proper racing game

handling feels ok and graphics have a nice solid look to them so guess for fans of the previous stuntman this will hit the mark

reminded me Road Avenger very linear and very little room for error, i found myself quite bored quite quickly as its all about replaying the sections until you know them off by heart then doing that perfect run to gain the best score possible.

i was sat playing this thinking it could of been done so much better why not make it a sandbox type affair where you get given a stunt to do and you have to set it up and perform it.

Gave this a whirl last night, echo the views above, nicely done but really showing it's age, far too restrictive and repetitive.

Liked the original (must have been out what 5 or 6 years ago now), but so much more is needed in this day and age to make people part with their hard-earned.

Shame as it good have been a sleeper hit like Flatout has been.

Played this today and it is strangely addictive, but I'm just not sure about the format. I found myself getting a bit frustrated by how exact you had to be in hitting markers and things which at times seemed to be a bit unclear. Not sure, its hard to describe really, but it just felt like being a case of so near but yet so far. Like others have said, I think the enjoyment would fade fast as you replay stuff time and time again just trying to remember what comes next. Definitely scope for a more free-form version of the game IMO.
