Help with HALO: Combat Evolved

Hello, i am at the point when you have to destroy the halo cores.

What do you use to destroy them? Rocket Launcher, Grenades?

I really cant do that that way!!!

Only thing that makes me kill the cores is to pass thru them....but this leaves me without shields...and then floods kills me so i cannot proceed in the game.

Its been so long but yeah if i remember its rockets, grenades.

It took me a few go's before i got the hang of it so it will all come good after more attempts.

Also going to be harder if its on heroic/legendary.

Your supposed to be without shields because its your shields that knock off the power cores.

Its better of Co Op though, even though both your shields go down.

You can just walk into them if i remember correctly, they drain your sheilds but you'll live

Whats the bit im thinking of then?

Am i thinking of a different level were you shoot up at these cores or is the shield bit earlier in the level?

Mabey your thinking of the final bit in the engine room?

You're thinking of a later level, Pilotwings.

Not sure what advice to give. Look for cover to let your shields recover, and then just leg it out of there.

He's talking about the bit out on the snow level with the cores high above the ground - you have to use a banshee to get up there. I assumed he was talking about the bit at the very end with guilty spark, initially.

The shield is the thing which shuts it down. Just walk in and peg it to the nearest exit.
