Tell you what - ok I'm only 25% in after 5 and a half hours play, but I don't see anything wrong with this game. In fact - I think its damn good! Love the varying gameplay elements. It hasn't got stale once so far. Just defeated the Boss Goldum in the mines and I'm really enjoying it. The game is beautiful also - With fantastic soundtrack (did Rare do the soundtrack themselves?).

Its just under 20 hours long (well it was in my experience) so you get a decent amount of game for your cash. I thought the length felt about right.

As for my opinion of the game, well I enjoyed it. Its basically a 'pleasant' game to play.
      Its not too long
      Its not too hard
      It looks nice
      Its fairly engaging.
Kinda like Primal really. I kept playing because it had a fairly engaging (if rather cheesy) plot, was well produced and didnt do anything to piss me off. I didnt find the game to be in the least bit booring, though the further through it I got, the more I got the niggiling feeling that my gaming abilities were not really being tested.

Besides, I'm a sucker for Rare games (apart from Killer Instinct).
Jet Force Gemini, Banjo Tooie, Conkers BFD, SFA - its all good to me.
      Cant wait for Kameo.......

I honestly loved playing this game, the graphics are superb the PLII soundtrack is fantastic and it's got a proper 16:9 mode.
It's not the hardest game in the world and it does borrow many elements from previous Zelda titles but thats no bad thing.
I found myself playing through it with a big smile on my face and some of the tunes are very catchy
The only bad thing i can remember is the awfull flying levels and some of the quests are a bit of a chore to complete.
One thing that did annoy me was throughout the game you got the same cutscene's everytime you did certain things.
Overall an average to good title in my opinion and MVC are selling brand new copies for a tenner.

It is a fantastic soundtrack, isn't it? Sounds very much like a Mike Oldfield creation. However, it's all composed by Rare's very own Dave Wise - who they've just found since losing him after DKC2 - another of my favourite VG soundtracks of all time.

Grant Kirkhope is good (Perfect Dark") but not as good as 'ar kid Dave, IMO.

Oh, SFA is a great game IMO. Not the best, obviously, but still a worthy addition to my GC library. It's just too bad this was Rare's first and last game on the GC. They should have delayed Perfect Dark" to be a GC launch title.

Still strolling through the game. Put in about 15 hours and 65% in. Only game i'm playing right now and I'm still loving it. There are enough new ideas and gameplay elements being thrown my way to keep me occupied.

At the moment I would rate this an easy 9.

i take it you guys are playin the US version or pal one right? Maybe the fact that mines in jap hinders me enjoyment somewhat.

US version. Actually the voices are one of the only aspects I don't really like about the game (dino voices that is).

Heh - I think that language is cool! It's a whole lot better than the rather unfittingly cocky voice of Fox or the geeky voice of Prince Tricky.

Yeh I preferred it when they spoke their language. When they speak English they sound...kinda out of place.

I thought SFA was far from boring, in fact I found it very compelling. The only downside for me was the combat, the 'special' moves (while pretty) were useless and took far longer to wear down the bad guys than the bog standard attack.
