Thanks. I tried it and it worked fine. I'm up to area 4 now.

    I'll get me coat

I figure I'm pretty close to the end now, so there's not much left to do. Shame, because it's a great game.

      I love this game.
It looks beautiful, is packed full of really great ideas and importantly is fun to play.
It is slighlty too short, but if you are after replay value and a challenge then I'd reccomend going after a Grade A rating.

A lovely game, wonderfully designed. I prefer small games to large in general, so brevity wasn't a problem for me.

It encompassed everything Miyamoto does well, IMO: integration of all elements. The backgrounds helped with the mood, the music complemented the visuals, Luigi's singing complemented the humour...etc.etc.

It was also very clever with some cool little puzzles. A true underrated gem.

I picked this up second hand for ?18 and loved every minute of it. I can see why people may have a problem with the longevity if you paid top whack for it. But I was visiting the relations for a couple of weeks last christmas, I picked up LM and pikmin both for under twenty quid.

And I totally loved them both, I beat both in a couple of days each and found the length quite refreshing.

I think more publishers should release games this length, it allows gamers to full appreciate more games. However to be fair I do think they should be priced below the full price that you'd pay for something that you'll get a lot of time out of like Vice City, Zelda or metroid prime.

              Mario? Maaaaaaaaaario
              MARIO!!

I agree with what has been said. It's a charming game with more character than almost any other game. I do like to get stuck into a 40 hour epic, but when all is said and done, I probably remember more about Luigi's Mansion a year after playing it than Morrowind (or another huge game) 6 months ago.

It may only last 5 hours, but it's a good 5 hours.

it has replay value though due to the score attack thing in it, there were loads oft hidden things in it, like when you sucked the fans in the rooms and made them spin it would give you loads of treasure, or if you sucked up a gold mouse you also got loads of treasure, and it ace when i found that secret room that was packed to the rafters.

the detail was amazing and i tied everthing, details like being able to suck of the tablecloths are fantastic top game.

ad just long enough to replay to try and perfect your score.

I have always wanted this game and have recently been looking for a cheap US copy to see me through until F-Zero. I can't find one anywhere. This thread will make me re-double my efforts.

                  Luigi's Mansion here I come!

I enjoyed it also. Nice graphics, cool sounds. I didn't think the gameplay was that 'great', but certainly good enough to keep me at it until it was completed.

One thing...I dont believe it should have been released with a full retail price tag. A bit undeserving of that imo.

                      Why?

Did Super Metroid, Super Mario World or Zelda: A Link To The Past not deserve a full retail price tag either?

I know these are from a previous generation but all three of these games offered less than 10 hours gameplay until full completion.

Once I had completed the game, I thought to myself not a bad game, but didnt feel as though I had gotten my 45 quids worth of 'fulfillment' out of it.

For sure there are many other games that have left me with the same feeling, but this thread is about LM, not those other games

I'm sure all of us have felt a little "is that it' after completing some games, and thats how I felt with this one.

You completed Zelda:LttP first time around in under 10 hours? Bloody hell, that's good going I think...

If you play it again you will realise it really isnt.

I bought LTTP again a few months back since I stupidly sold it years ago and wanted it as part of my collection (since IMO it is the best Zelda ever made).

I hadnt touched the game since its original release (I fully completed it on its original release and then sold it) and could basically remember nothing about the game.

I played through it again from start to finish in about 4 hours. I was shocked at just how short it was. Doesnt stop it being earth shatteringly amazing though.

Ah well, yes I know it doesn't take THAT long if you know what you are doing. What I mean is actually figuring out how to do everything (as in solving all the puzzles etc) from scratch, especially that bastard puzzle in the Ice dungeon (removed in the GBA version) and beating Ganon in under 10 hours on your very first play. That's what I mean by good. If you could work out everything without knowing what the solution was so quickly, then of course it's good going

Of course no looking at the hints booklet with the game too

I don't see why it shouldn't be full price.

I'd feel much better about the money I'd spent if a game provides 10 hours of top class gameplay, than something like The Matrix or Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness that offer 20 hours of mediocrity.

I think people worry too much about game length this generation.
