Anyone buying a 360 for Halo 3?

My friend has owned an original Xbox and really likes Halo 1 and 2. I asked him if he was going to by a 360 for Halo 3 and he said he would, not on realese but as close down the line as his wallet would cope with.

I've had a bit of a gaming sabbatical over the last year; been back at uni doing an MSc so a lack of money and spare time has meant I pretty much stopped playing games after September last year.

However, with that all done at the end of August I treated myself to a shiny new 360, but I wouldn't say Halo 3 was the main reason. I will buy it for sure, but even without it I'd have gone for a 360 anyway.

Yeah ive been holding off for ages and i think i will continue to hold of for a while.

Im in no rush for 1 mostly played online game and god no's if i will even like the main game.

Sorry if I'm missing somthing but why would anyone have held off getting one in wait for Halo 3 when if they had already bought one they could have been playing Gears Of War for nearly a year first?

I'm gonna be getting one of those ugly LE Halo consoles to go with the release of halo 3

I really loved Halo and to a lesser extent Halo 2. I'm now thinking of getting a 360 just to play Halo 3. However I'm still rather put of by the supposed unreliability of the console. I'm hoping to get one of new generation 360s with the better reliabilty but I not really clear on how to make sure I'm buying the right one.

I can just sense a 6/10 coming from Edge...

I've only played Halo 1 & 2 on 360 and most my friends already have a 360. I think the system's games and online functions have sold the unit well enough.

There can't be many people who love Halo but not bought a 360 because there wasn't a Halo on it... can there?

Halo 3 is really tempting me but having gone off games alot the last 2 years I'm worried about buying a 360 playing Halo on it then never touching it again. Or even not enjoying Halo itself.

yeah, i am - mainly due to financial constraints and a little to do with the unreliable hardware. i bought an Xbox at launch to play Halo, so i'm not going to miss out on No.3 - but now i'm past caring about playing things the minute they are released, i'm just as happy to wait and let the prices drop a bit.

and it means that i can get all the other games i've been tempted by (Gears, Lost Planet, Dead Rising, EDF) on the cheap
