Last game you bought on the strength of its cover alone.

I was young and only saw a Japanese lady in a wrestling costume. The cover had some kind of lofi hologram (not sure the real name for the trickery it displayed). I was into watching Hogan versus Earthquake and Sgt.Slaughter on the telly at the time. I really did want to try before buy, but I was a bit embarrassed to ask as these were the days a pack import gaming stores.

There was actaully a decent game in there..... okay maybe not, but my sister loved it Hogging my MD.

I bought this... (please forgive me )

The only game I've ever bought due to the cover was PAL Disgaea, and that was a couple years ago. I still haven't played it for more than a hour. I might actually get rid of it and aquire the PSP version.

    Nice cover though.

For obvious reasons, in my adolescence I'd have to say Barbarian for the C64. Naturally, Maria Whitter's ample [cough] calf muscles were the draw.

I bought Barbarian but it was more for the decapitation followed by the troll kicking the head off screen - great game

        Poster wasn't bad either.

Probably go with Sam Fox Strip Poker on the ole' Speccy.

I bought Ringside Angel for the MD as well. I wish had never seen the cover again though as I remember the bird on the front been dead fit.

Worst bit about the game was I had only had one control pad at the time, so I never even tried it in two player mode. Me and my mate had to take turns sayings things like 'I bet it's better in two player'.

My best memory of the game was after a while with the came I accidentally discovered somekind of super special move which involved lightening.

The wrestle woman's name on the front is Cutie Suzuki

My most recent was Tingle. I wasn't going to buy it at all but, man, that is one great cover with all its goldiness and fruitiness.

Strangely, the only console I've done that for was for the horiginal Game Boy. Import photos were few and far between in them days (pre-internet days, remember them?). I probably bought Flappy Special on the strength of the cover - I think I wanted to know what the hell was going on!

Strangely enough, I bought a game on the strength of the cover alone for the first time in a decade when I went to Japan, and again it was for the Game Boy. I bought a couple of Gundam and Ultraman SD games from this little shop in Akihabara that Tim Rogers (that guy who writes the Japan Column in GamesTM) took me to.

I found them whilst tidying at the weekend and they really are bobbins - I've no idea what's going on in the Ultraman one. Good job I only paid about £1 for it!
