Is Puzzle Quest text heavy?

I'd rather buy the JPN one, but obviously not if I can't play it. Is the game text heavy? Will I need to go US?

The story kind of takes a back seat to the gameplay. From what I've seen of it, it looks like your typical medieval fantasy hocum. There's probably alot of text in it, but if you've played something like a jpn zelda for example, it won't be that heavy.

You can get by easily by skipping the story, but whether you'll get by without the spell explanations or the item descriptions is another matter.

i reckon if you skip the "story" for what its worth, you may as well just play it on challenge mode. the quest mode is amazingly repetitive with the only respite in knowing you've just giving a big elf his axe back or stolen an eye from some elfin queen...(ah the regret of sinking 20+ hours into that game)

my advice is don't go anywhere near it, its a time thief
