How much have you spent this gen?

This gen has been very different for me compared with previous gens (where I'd own all 3 systems, now i'm happy with 1). Biggest outlay was for a new PC to play firsty lotro and then WoW on, but an ?8 monthly fee for an mmorpg is far more affordable than throwing numerous ?40 pluses at console games every month (which I used to do).

Recently I've started buying console games again due to the stream of quality 360 releases ... but all in all, this has been my cheapest gen for a lot of years.

Oddly enough, though, I think the amount I've spent on software has been the least of any generation. I've found myself being more able to be patient and wait for new titles to drop into the $30 range or go Greatest Hits, exception being sucked in to the Halo 3 launch hype, and I've been going back and stocking up on PS2/Gamecube/Xbox titles from the bargain racks.

So really not bad, compared to the PS/Saturn days of dropping $50-60 on a game and never finding time to play them, now I drop $20-$30 on a game and never have time to play it.

a fair bit bought a x360/wii/ps3

sat though will spend some money virtua fighter 5 x360 (IF it is region free) the witcher for the pc and a few others i forgot the names off

Xbox 360, US Wii, US PS3 & a Samsung TV. I dread to think how much I've spent on games buy for the above three formats along with PC, PSP, DS & PS2.

Not counting handhelds:

• HDTV (~?650)
• Xbox 360 (?279) + 26 games (?1,040 if we assume an average of ?40 each) + 11 XBLA games (?55 if we say ?5 each) + 2 years of Live (?80)
• 60GB US PS3 (?320) + 2 games (?80) + 3 PSN games (?30 = ?5 each for Tekken and Stardust + ?20 for Warhawk)
• US Wii (?245) + 3 games (?90)

So that comes out to a paltry ?2,829, which will probably hit the ?3,000 barrier by the end of this year.
