    the wii and demos!

will nintendo eventually start adding downloadable demos to the virtual console?

the wii has been out for nearly a year yet they have'nt even dropped any free trial software or nothing, it a joke.

if sony and microsoft can give gamers so much choice then why can't nintendo?

cant believe they even charge so much for the snes/n64 games as it is!

I would like to see demos of VC titles. I get along quite poorly with most retro games, so I like to know what I'm buying for my money.

ATM, the only way to know for sure is to download a ROM, and by the time that's done, you're half way to playing the thing for free any way.

I can't see it changing, though, since it would require extra work for developers. When games are supplied for XBLA, presumably they have to do a fair bit of work optimizing for XNA or whatever - demo's are therefore little inconvenience.

Closest your going to get for demos on the wii is the upcomming ds download channel where you can turn your wii into a download station like the ones in the shops.

Ninty is looking into storage option for wiiware, and also wiiware/wii demos.

I'll guess we will find out once Ninty decides on the storage front.
My guess is on some sort of proprietory Nintendo Hdd like device, For instance, based on hard disk tech, but not PC compatible until hackers can create drivers for it.

I still wouldn't rule out a DD like device, for medium protection, game expansion etc for wiiware, commercial titles. The changing disks, which would be tiny compared to 64dd, would give Ninty piracy control, and latge storage problems saved, with th3 SD slot used for saves, music, and photo functionality. The disks would make good money for Ninty toom as well as the drives, Say a ten pack of 2gb disks for twenty quid, maybe less, and the drive for twenty thirty pounds too.
