Or you could buy rechargeable USB batteries, which you can plug into your console to recharge: http://www.usbcell.com/

JammyD - I emailed those USBcell people - what a great prodcut it is! A little bit pricy when compared to other rechargeables but seriously cool.

Anyway I am starting to feel a bit weird about e-mailing from my work address. I just had a personal enquiry about where to purchase from a physical shop rather than online.

They answered that swiftly and suggested that I might want to use them as part of a corporate client gift pack. Unfortunately we are not doing any gifts at the moment but despite this they sent me a full colour mock up of what the product would look like with our Co logo on it!

Crazy, absolutely superb marketing there and I hope they do well.

In other news work is getting very busy with the "cutting edge" actions - if and when more of them start coming out of the woodwork we should see more publishers jumping on the litigation bandwagon. In times of recession corporate finance and work tends to dry up and litigation is covered in a downpour.

Seen as that is what we are heading for, people may be looking to recover money they would previously have written off their accounts. Lets see!

Sometimes its good to be a junior member of staff.

Responding legally to people recently has taught me this. I have someone to watch my back, guide me, someone who knows most of the rules and how to respond.

            Most people do not.

There are two main ways people respond to the threat of court proceedings.
Humbly - taking the matter seriously and being co-operative and non hostile (insert also plea of it wasn't me guv).

Or hostile. Very hostile. And it is usually other people who like to think they are lawyers who do this. There is no point in trying to catch out law firms on the litigation pre-action protocols if you are a student.

I didn't know them properly when I was one and I'm sure as salt that these lot don't. Aggression is not the way to get a good response I don't think. Nor is misquoting letters, misinterpretaing facts, asking for documents that have already been supplied or demanding irrelevant (and publicly available) documentation.

This is not so much a blog but a rant, I have a lull at work and have been thinking about why the 18-21 age bracket think they know everything. The most important lesson I ever learned was that I didn't. The more you try and demonstrate just how much you know and how clever you are the more foolish you look to those who actually do know.

Oh and I still like RE:UC - believe doubters :P

I haven't written for AGES as I have been exrtremely busy at work - things have all been very bust over the Christmas period so apologies!

I did get New Years Eve off though to do some shopping and bought a ton of games I don't think I'm ever going to play (including Bullet Witch which is actually pretty awful).

Its a bit odd that I went around and bought loads of mediocre old titles to play even though they were cheap but I think they can be quite relaxing. For example playing a bit of Just Cause was quite good fun - not stressful or challenging, only really a bit buggy. I didn't even really mind that I should have been playing something better.

I did get Metroid Prime 3 for Christmas which I should have started but sometimes when you just don't have the energy to invest in a (possibly) epic title - maybe it is better to relax with some average gaming time?

So Happy New Year to everyone and may your NTSC year be bountiful and full of gaming bliss - however it may be.

                Hello everyone.

LoveFilm - Love cheap rentals. Sort of a shameless plug but I have received a decent 3 month trial from them and it is a nippy little service.

The astute will have noticed my 1000 spaff on TMNT recently - a casualty or a benefit of rentals?

                The good.

I was tinkering with buying it in any event and it saved me money because I literally completed it in 2 sittings.

It was alright - an engaging enough jumpfest where you can do something else while playing.

                The bad.

                It makes me a schorewhore.
Its not a great game and I should be playing something better with my time.

Aside from that there are more file sharing actions in the piepline and I have been reseraching into similar actions in America to see whats happening over there. Currently the trend seems to be to target specific infringers again and see if publishers can re-coup any cost.

Once I have finished compiling my research I will do a proper update.

Till then I have a work appraisal at work today. Gutted.

So I sit here at my desk feeling bored because for once in ages I am not busy.

What to do though, I know I will be busy later so if I go on a work hunt then I will be overrun and won't be able to hit the watering holes this evening.
If I stay and "peruse" files and "educate" myself then I will have wasted precious time clock minutes and have a rubbish billing day.

Could do with a little and discreet internet game to play but I'm not sure about that one if I'm honest. Its worse because everyone else is really busy and I know its coming my way soon...

Ah well. Game wise I have been loving Condemned all over again - what a great launch title that really was, it oozes fear and style out of its funny little ear pores.
But I think the sequel is taking a wrong turn, Ethan Thomas was a great character to drive a slightly ropey plot because he wasn't a bullsih as brass American.
I don't mind the twist towards the supernatural (loved FEAR too) but I don't see the need for an arrogant ass kicker in the lead role. If it is PoP:WW all over again I won't be that happy, bludgeoning crazed tramps to death, to the tune of death metal, is not to my mind ironic or amusing.

                  Over and out.
