    First Attempt

Right, my first time doing this time of thing so we'll see how it goes.

To do this properly, must have the classic "About me", yes?

    So, about me:

Personal Info: My name is Nuno. I'm Portuguese, live in Lisboa (Portuguese capital). I'm 27 years old and I'm a computer programmer (how do you name this in English?), currently doing Asp.Net and VB.Net stuff, and a bit of Sql Server.

I started with a Sega MegaDrive, a present when I entered my 6th year of school (so, around 1991~1992). It was my first system, so i didn't have any knowledge about this hobby. Good days playing the first Sonic that came with it.

I since then moved to the Playstation, Playstation 2, XBox, GameCube and currently my main systems are the Xbox 360 and the Pc.

Oh, also have a Nintendo DS Lite too.

And a good while ago bought a DreamCast just to play Soul Calibur (always liked this series since the Soul Blade in the Playstation).

My favourite games are racing, fighting (albeit i'm not very good at either one ) and RPG games but i usually play almost every genre, if there is a game that grabs my attention.

I'm currently playing PGR4 and VF5 on the Xbox 360 and sometimes a little bit of WoW on the Pc.

I joined here in 2003, but i usually just read the posts in the Headlines and the First Play stuff to see what you guys playing.

I don't post much, but i visit the forums almost everyday (go figure).

Eh, a little bit of text wall i wrote without noticing. I think i will let this be my first entry.

So, to finish this poor constructed post , apologies for the bad english and convoluted organization.

    Exactly the same.
Also we're the same age, and I bought a Dreamcast for the exact same reason. Spooky.

      Virtua Fighter then...

Oh noes, a carbon copy of me.

So, VF5. I got it last week.

What I like the most about it? The real fighting styles.

I always got attracted by the martial arts. Never practised anything, but I like to see programs and documentaries about them.

This lead me to buy VF5, having seen some videos up on gametrailers.com.

I have been practising on the Command Dojo to see if I can find the character that I like the best. It's not that easy, let me tell you. There is so much diversity on the fighting styles that I get lost on who to choose.

So, I began playing the Arcade Mode with all the characters to see who would be most appropriate, and to get Dural (I think I can unlock him if I finish Arcade with all the characters).

And, a strange think I found is that I really like Goh and Akira (a little bit more Goh than Akira tough). Having read some topics about the difficulty with playing these two, I really liked Goh fighting style. It's slow, very grab intensive, but I clicked with him.

He has some very nice grabs, some of which are like a dozen floor grabs that are used when your opponent is on the ground, either face up, face down, his feet or head in your direction. I think he has a grab for every position that you can have on the ground.

Don't know how much I can play with him online against someone, but he should be fun in the Quest Mode.

So, this is where I stand. I need to finish Arcade Mode with the rest of the characters (I think I'm missing like 4~5 characters yet) and i didn't even started Quest Mode.

This is gonna be a while to get done with game.

If you are referring to the fighting stick, I don't have one, but I'm thinking about it.

I play with the d-pad and use the left stick for those round Street Fighter moves you have to do.

And I get kicked more times than not by Dural. I'm glad that is just a bonus stage, he he.

My Xbox 360 is gone, diseased, is no more, it was ceased to be, it is pushing up the daisies,

            it's an Ex-Xbox 360.

It started to freeze frequently and now, immediately as is turned on, the 3 red lights appear.

It was manufactured in 2005-12-05 and I bought it in 2006-01-16.

The sad thing is, I never had a console die on me. I'm afraid that if I buy another Xbox, with the luck I have it will die after a while.

So now, I don't know what to do. Buy another one, buy a PS3 perhaps, or send it for repairs and wait for it to arrive.

And I ordered Mass Effect and was eagerly waiting for Ace Combat.

What a great way to start the week, eh?

Well, my ex-xbox 360 is in Germany (Europe repair center i would guess). It will take more or less another week or so to get to me.

                So, what did i do?

I put my GameCube under the tv and been playing a bit of Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon.

And i bought my brother a Nintendo Wii yesterday. Not played with it yet, but that is a tiny thing.

Oh, and i found these videos on youtube:

                Wii disassembly, Part 1

                Wii disassembly, Part 2

                Wii disassembly, Part 3

Nothing really interesting to report then.

Finally got my Xbox 360 back.

Microsoft gave me a replacement unit.

First thing i noticed is that it's quiet while in the dashboard, my broken one was very noisy with no disc in and turned on looking at the Live blade or even playing an Arcade title.

Definite improvement there. Tough, playing any disc game the ruckus is definitely there.

But now, i have another problem. Thing is, i share my Xbox with my brother and now my brother can't play any Arcade Title i bought or even any payed DLC with his profile.

Not gonna buy any more DLC stuff until i call support and try and get this resolved, if it can get fixed.

Bah, at least i can play Mass Effect. And Ace Combat 6. And Assassins Creed.

I think that if both profiles are signed in and you're connected to Live that your brother will be able to access your DLC. Worth a crack anyway.

That is indeed right, just means you need to have an extra pad connected.
