Nope... if it's rated 100W or so it should be fine. If it's only 60W there might be some issues.

As for US Wii stock, I actually had a look and asked today whilst out shopping, and I think only about 2 shops had any of 12-15 we visited. Only one had stock of Wii Guitar Hero 3 too. Some guy was actually trading in a US Wii in one store while we were there, and we were like "you idiot, stop! Put in on eBay!" in our minds heh...

I thought the shortages were primarily in the uk. didn't realise it was in the US too. I ordered mine from VGP and they had them in stock and shipped it the same day. this was on monday.
