    Game Pre-Owned Guaranttee

    Just a quickie.

After loving my 360 and playing COD4 tonight, it randomly froze!
I booted down and back up which resulted ina wear screech noise an froze on boot up.
Same happend again! When I rebooted.

I took all leads out and re-plugged and it worked again, I got to COD4 game and froze.
Now I boot it and get 3 RED LIGHTS.
AKA DEAD as far as I can tell from a google search.

My biggest concern is.. I got it from Game Pre-owned it has a 1 year guarantte... Do I just take this back with all leads and change for another there and then?
Can I keep my hard drive with all saves and game downloads etc?

    Man I'm upset!

Yeah, just take it down with the reciept and they should exchange it if it's still under warranty. And ask them to swap the hard-drives around.

Don't even risk taking your harddrive, some anal person might want to take the whole thing from you if they see you have it all with ya so I'd leave it at home just incase!

Nope you can return it to Microsoft if you need to as it's not gonna be out of the 3 year warranty.

          None are until November 2008

                    No, no, no.

You don't even have to send your harddrive.

A word of warning, though - with a second hand console, it may have been registered with MS by the previous owner, which could be awkward. Phone tomorrow (I think they're closed now) and see what they say. If they give you gip, try GAME anyway.

There's a small possibility you could get a new console from MS, but don't count on it.

Just to double check, I got my 360 on launch and am now on my 3rd replacement console, if this breaks I can still return it to MS up until Nov 08 no matter what?

I wouldn't read anything into that. Never used the website for processing a claim. Ring them tomorrow.

As regards deadlines for warranty: You could probably argue MS into giving you a replacement 3 years from the date of the last fix. But you'll definately be covered up to years from the date of original purchase. Lots of high street shops are quite willing to take returns outside of warranty, too.

I'm presuming if its been registered with old user, MS won't take it and replace it?

Do I just send it without the HD and tell them on phone that I'm keeping hold of it?

                              Should i try Game first??

                              I'm ****ed aint I?
