finally a PAL-release. but meanwhile i already own the Raiden Project (Raiden + Raiden II, PSX) and Raiden III (PS2) - so i am really wondering if it's worth it for Jet alone

It's not Raiden I / Raiden II, but Raiden Fighters I and Raiden Fighters II.

All 3 games should be new to you.

Been playing the demo for a while and think I prefer Raiden Fighters Jet out of the three of them although the demo doesn't really give you much go on really.

I was quite surprised as I didn't realise these were a completely different series to the Raiden games. For people who've played the import version, does the pack contain much along the lines of being able to chose different versions of each game, different soundtracks, etc?

One of the things I like about the ESPGaluda II & Mushihime-sama Futari is that they do seem fill the games with things like different modes with different enemy patterns, graphics so I'm hoping for the same here.

To be fair though, I've had it on pre-order for absolutely ages so even if it didn't include all the variations I wouldn't really care that much.

There's no snazzy extras like full-on Arrange modes that are fundamentally different, or redrawn graphics, you just get ports of the Arcade games. There are plenty of features and useful options though - Score Attack, Boss Rush, Expert Mode, Leaderboards, Replay Load/Save, plus an extremely comprehensive Training mode and set of options (fake scanlines etc).

Until the CAVE games came along, RFA was definitely the standard-bearer for home STG ports.

Cool. I've waited for ages for this ! ever since i saw it was being released in japan. bit gutted about the short delay, we've waited long enough ! i really want to get mushihimesama futari, but am a bit worried aboout it being too hard, or even getting a pal or live release after i bung over 50 quid on a foriegn version ! do you get stung for import tax on it too ?

I'm going by this post, online stores are just going to keep on pushing back dates because Tradewest can't make up their minds about releasing the game, when there really is nothing for them to do but send out shipments to retailers. I guess they're worried about Halo Reach or something, but October isn't really a good time window either tbh.
