UK PSone Store Games on USA PS3?

I'm sure its been asked before but I can't find it through search.

I've got a US PS3 hooked up by HDMI and have noticed Kula World and a few other tasty PS1 titles are available in the UK Store.

Now i know payment won't be a problem because my UK account is registered to my legit address, however will UK PS1 Downloads work on my machine?

I am afriad not...Pal PSone games only work on a Pal PS3..... I totally forgot about this, what with all the region free goodness of the ps3 (i have a Jap machine).. Downloaded Kula-World - then realised.. When i tried to boot it up, a message came up saying- unable to play at this resolution..(im running it on HDMI)..Lucky i had me PSP charged up..transfered it to that, and got some kula world goodness...

I had the exact same result when I tried the Wipeout download. "Video mode not supported" was the rror message as the NTSC models cannot output a PAL signal.

However some people have posted here saying they have had no issues playing the PAL PSone downloads on their NTSC PS3 but I've not risked wasting further coinage.

It did transfer over to my JPN PSP without a a hitch but it ran bordered (even when told to 'Stretch to Fit').

I've bought Crash Bandicoot 2 and Syphon Filter 3 off the French PSN (which I assume is the same as the UK one), both run perfectly on my US PS3.

Hmm, seems a bit hit and miss then.

Perfect excuse to wait a while and get a UK White PS3 then ....JK btw

Its weird, I have a JPN PS3 with 160GB HDD (originally 60GB) and I have games from US/JPN/HK and the UK store and they run fine on my PS3

All uk ps1 games from the uk work on my usa ps3, no issues here

I bought Wipeout and Destruction Derby months ago on the US store on my UK PS3 and they played fine, I think the only problem is playing PAL games on a US PS3 machine, NOT US games on a UK PS3, thats a tongue-twister!

Thanks I now have to find a way of purchasing from the American store without a credit card (which is impossible )

So I can download Wild Arms off the US store and it will work no problems on my UK PS3? That would be ace as I've always wanted to try that game and it's mere pennies to buy
