I can't play third person shooters...

... or, more specifically, general third person action adventure games that also have shooting in them.

Now I've only noticed this on the last couple of console games I've played - Uncharted (Which I've completed... yes I know it contradicts the title somewhat) and Ratchet and Clank Future, which I just started yesterday.

The problem is that my head/hands now seem to be programmed to use the inverted horizontal (X-axis? I can never remember) control scheme when I'm in third person (I guess I subconsciously think of it as moving the camera, which is of course what you're doing) but I can't for the life of me do that in first person (Or pseudo-first, when you're shooting in third person ? la GoW, Uncharted and Ratchet).

Now that was a headache in Uncharted, because I found myself taking a second or two to re-orientate myself when I hit the aim button, but it's more of a nightmare in Ratchet that doesn't give you the option to separately flip the horizontal axis depending on which mode you're in (Uncharted does).

Like I said, I can't for the life of me understand why this has happened all of a sudden. I've played countless numbers of these games in the past (Including all of the previous Ratchet games) and noticed no trouble at all. Does anyone else have this trouble? Any suggestions? At the moment I think I'm just going to have to retrain myself so that I can do the camera motion in 'normal' mode.

Same here. When I play a third person game I think the horizontal controls ar backwards, so I change them. Then they realy do feel backwards which implies they were right for me first time round, so I change them back. They still don't feel right when I change them back though
