    Emulation on Mobile Phones?

So it's time for QualityChimp to finally upgrade his phone. The string is getting frayed and the tins at either end are getting rusty.

I've had my eye on the Nokia N81, but read some so-so reviews of it. Shame as it's got N-Gage stuff in it and specific gaming buttons.

Instead, I've been thinking of going a different route and trying to get some emulators on a new phone.

Apparently, you can get Megadrive and MAME working on the N95. Can anybody confirm this?

Would these work on the N81? It's got the same S60 V3 Symbian OS as the N95.

I could always get hold of one of these kErAzY controllers.

I saw this crazy video on YouTube of a Motorola E680i running MAME, FinalBurn, GBA, Neo-Geo, Quake and Warcraft. That's pretty impressive!

Anybody got any feedback on the N81, N95 and general emulation on phones experience?

Naturally, I'll only be playing games that I've got the ROMs for.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I saw the GP2X thread in here.

Can't answer about the N81 or the N95, but the iPhone has NES, GBA (gpSPhone) and Playstation 1 (psx4all) emulators available for it.

There are all kinds of excellent emulators for the Windows Mobile devices, which can have more powerful CPUs in them than the N95.

          Aye.

Smartgear http://www.bitbanksoftware.com costs 10USD on paypal and it plays GB, GBA, PC Engine, Mastersystem, NES and Megadrive games at full speed, full screen.

                *bump*

So I've had my Nokia N81 8Gb since I started this thread nearly 3 years ago.
The Mega Drive, SNES, Gameboy and GBA emulators have all been great on it.

I fancy upgrading, but wondered what the emulation scene's like on mobiles these days.

I don't really want an iPhone.

Are there any good champions of mobile emulation about? Not just running the games, but have good button configurations too?

The N81 has two buttons above the screen so when it's held on its side, it has a joypad and buttons in the right place.

Any good smartphones doing the do (like Betty Boo)?
