    Dead Rising 2

From the new issue of EGM:

"His biggest find is that Dead Rising 2 is apparently in development for multiple consoles -- but that Capcom isn't developing it. Apparently the actual coding is being handled by an LA-based developer (kind of like how developer The Collective is working on Silent Hill 5)."

I love Dead Rising but hopefully the western touch can iron out some of the poor design in the game.

'Apparently' in development? Hopefully the wont balls it up? (like Capcom did?) Its very unlikely they could better Capcom's effort imo flawed though it was.

I dunno, I felt Dead Rising was great, with some minor flaws that could easily be sorted for a sequel.

After reading the The Most Excited You've Ever Been About A Game? thread, I remembered how much I was looking forward to playing Dead Rising before the 360 came out and was gutted when it slipped from launch.

I really enjoyed this game and thought it had some great moments of action, humour and tension.

By the end of the game, I was a one man wrecking crew (who also knows how to party).

I hope they do make a sequel. With co-op it'd be astounding!

oh dear, if that is indeed the case that some american developer is handling it. It doesn't bode too well, not after hearing some tidbits about Silent Hill 5 and what happened with Origins.

Oh God - Great news the game is possibly in development - Potentially horrible news that it's outsourced to the US.

I cant get my head around why its been outsourced. Why give one of the best franchises they have to a bunch of high-fiving yanky doodle dandys? Its like out sourcing the development of Resident evil 2 (or 5 for that matter!) just bizzare.. If they can put down there pepsi max and stop hanging tough for 5 mins then Im sure they will at least be able to implement a more forgiving save system this time around but im worried about the rest of it.

Just a stab in the dark, but maybe because it was successful on the 360, but the 360 wasn't a success in Japan? The sequel being multi-platform, it might seem like an untested franchise in Japan (where it would be mostly played on the PS3).

So on the success of the game in the West, they hand it to Western developers?

Or maybe they are just busy!

Your trusted source for video game news, reviews and guides, since 1999.

Can't believe I'm posting that given the amount of huge DR fans on here. Good news = 'confirmed', bad news = 'confirmed dev Blue Castle'. Not that I'm suggesting they're crap, but I imagine people here would prefer the original team.

Two things for me need to be sorted before I buy this: Save System and Difficulty Level - I enjoyed the first greatly but some of the bosses kicked my @ss all the time.
