I remember waiting in the shop until about 7pm for a delivery of import F355s.
It was about 60 squid, but worth every penny.

I always assumed they advertised the high-prices hoping rich kids and Arabs would pay them- but the average import fan probably paid a bit less. There was no way they would have stayed in business charging ridiculous prices to everyone!

At least the two brothers knew their stuff and appreciated serious gaming. I used to talk to the tall guy about the latest games, and he always said his favourite stuff were the Saturn shooters( something which I respected him for )

Here's a bump from the past

Anyone know if the ACE brothers ever set up shop again? The online London directories still have listings for the Carnaby St. shop.

I think after Carnaby they were in an upstairs place around Marble Arch area.

Can't remember where i heard that though, could of imagined it.

              Ace

Hello does anyone know if the 2 con artist are opening up another store?
They were the best in conversions but bad in selling games (how many times have I been ripped off by them)
I also heard they were in Marble Arch by them in person But I have no idea where
unless they have given up in the Games business
If anyone know please let me know thanks.

wow who would have guessed those 2 crooks would get their own thread on NTSC-UK this brings back some serious memories. It was indeed true that they were great for console repairs & conversions. Can't see how they would have survived the online shopping shift, if anyone knows what happened to ACE please post and let us know.

                  Kept you waiting, huh?

Proper pair of schiesters if you ask me, but in a comedic, almost likeable, kind of way. Remember a time they had a new release import PS2 game in (forget now what it was) and i was qouted ?50 for it. Went to get some cash and when i came back they wanted ?60 for it. When i enquired 'Err... how come?', i was informed bluntly 'Cos it's the last one'

Naturally i told them to get ****ed

They kinda reminded me of the guy from Cybernet (Cyyyybernet cyyyybernet yeeeeeah!). Based in Putney. Anyone remember them?

That's actually illegal; they have to either sell it to you at the marked price or withdraw the item from sale.

Yep. Thing is, the cheeky beggars never priced up half the stuff in their cabinet. Hence if they liked the look of you = better deal you'd get. Obviously they thought i looked like a tit

I don't disbelieve you, but do you have a source for that?

Robber barons indeed, but at that time, in days before the internet boom, they were a necessary evil.
