    Half life 2

    I just completed half life 2 on the pc, it was a fantasic game, one of the best ive played........im looking to buy the other episodes, but im confused. it is episodes 1 and 2 after halflife 2 and are these what are both in the orange box version? Any help would be great

    Yeah EP 1 and then 2 and those are in the orange box along with Portal and TFII. As I understand it the orange box is being split into seperate parts soon, so it may be worth hanging on and grabbing them seperately, as you already have the main game, which is also part of the orange box !

      The Orange Box has Half Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal all bundled together. EA did recently announce that that would be releasing the individual components individually at some stage.

          Can you not buy the episodes individually over Steam?

            It still isn't finished yet ... I think they've said Episode Three is the last one.

              I believe the Valve's naming policy is a large part of why the Orange Box sunk at retail. The whole idea of the box was to appeal to gamers who had never played the original games on the PC (or XBox) and give them a great reason to try it.

              But the confusingly named Orange Box (which was irrelevant after the other box was shelved) and calling the add-ons Episode 1 and 2 makes no sense to those new to the series. A mate of mine didn't buy the thing because he thought the package only contained part of the original Half Life 2 .

              It would have made more sense if they given the Episodes proper names like Blue Shift and called the whole thing Half Life Ultimate (or something)

                  The order is:

                  HL2 -> Episode1 -> Episode2

                  Portal and TF2 are separate games.

                      I just finished my first ever play through of Half-Life 2 and it's my first ever Half-Life experience. What a great vision, game and ending! Having played recent big release FPSs first I can now see how this has influenced the FPS genre. I think I'll play some other games for a short time before starting Episode One though.

                        I'd add that Portal will make more sense if you play at least HL2 and Ep 1 beforehand. TF2 is multiplayer only BTW.
