    Kill Bill (Gates) 3

This is more of a rant than anything else, as nobody but the tools at MS can change it.
Along with the stupid region locking of Xbox Originals I'm also screwed by the region blocking on Market Place. I have a US gamertag in Ireland and can't download any Xbox Originals despite the fact XBLA and demos work fine.
European CS says only if I access from the US, despite if I use my PAL or NTSC console, yes I have both due to another Microsoft blunder. Christ its the US game version, US account and a US console, but an Irish IP address and I'm f'd! Well done Xbox Live what a wonderful feature!
They said I can just create a new Euro gamertag but won't transfer my Gold subscription. Not to mention I just put 2000 points on my account because trying to download Ninja Gaiden asked me to top up before telling me it wouldn't give me it!!
Touche Mr Gates, right in the groin. There is no reason for region locking in simultaneous worldwide releases!

Does anyone know if I create a Irish gamertag with just the silver account and get the game? My roomate also has a Euro tag on the same harddrive I could get it on, but if he moves out and moves his gamertag to another console will I still be able to access it or no? And was Ninja Gaiden region free or will it not work on my NTSC console if I do manage to keep it?

    Thnx in advance

You might be able to ring up microsoft billing services and tell them that they you have moved from the US to ireland and now you can't add your credit card. If they change your billing region to United Kingdom, it will change your gamertag region also.

Ninja Gaiden wasn't region free so the UK version will not work on your US console.

I've also got a US 360 & US account (UK ISP) and had the same thing with Psychonauts - points deducted but kept getting an error message when I tried to d/l the game.

I did eventually get it to work though. Can't remember exactly how but I'm sure I played around with the Location in my console settings and made sure my e-mail account showed I was based in the US etc.

Yeah you need to update your addy details with a us address just grab one off the net then it lets you download stuff again.

Er sorry to seem ignant but what is an addy?
Also as far as I know my console is set to the US as are my gamertag fields, iThink its just basing my location of the IP of my router. Like I said all demos and XBLA games work fine, just originals not working.

Hmm from what I've been able to tell looking around it seems MS has recently implemented an IP block, in that it region locks content on the Marketplace by checking the locale of the IP address of your router as opposed to your Live configuration or console settings

The only solution I've heard would be running through a US proxy server so the Marketplace thinks I'm accessing from a US IP, anyone know how to set this up?

Guessing here, but you'd probably need a proxy server on your internal network which your 360 points at, this then forwards onto a US proxy service out on the interweb.....
