    Virtual Console: C64 is back!

    Virtual Console: C64 is back!

Haven't seen the news on any other Nintendo site yet (with the games and prices mentioned + other specific info). First releases will be International Karate and Uridium. No date yet for the two but soon. 500 points a game.

Available (at least for now) only on the European VC.

i hope the games cost the same price as they did way back when. When i was a kid, i was lucky to have a C64, i must have had well over a 100 games for it, i remember having them in big black bags. Madness.
Shame we probably won't get the screeching sounds and rainbow coloured loading screens. I do hope that most of the system 3 games get on there, wouldn't mind playing them again they were ahead of their time.

It all looks official this time. It isn't the first time we've heard the C64 games on the Virtual Console rumour which in the end came to nothing.

Here are some industry quotes on the subject:

Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of European Marketing & PR of Nintendo Europe: ?We are extremely pleased to be working with Commodore Gaming to provide even more retro hits for Wii owners to choose from on Virtual Console. With over 184 classic titles now available to enjoy, Virtual Console on Wii is a great way for users to access a breadth of classic retro games. We hope that this great choice of games will bring nostalgia to our gaming fans, while an entirely new generation of video game players can experience a host of classic games for the very first time.?

For heaven's sake. I do wish they'd concentrate on the systems they've got (that they already can't cope with) before adding new ones.

I imagine we'll soon be in a position where there's 86 different consoles to choose from, but only about three games on each.

!!!! I never thought this would actually happen. Not sure what games I'd like to see though. Maybe Creatures since my copy had a bug that made the game crash after a few seconds. And Mayhem, I remember reading the development diary in Commodore Format but never actually bought the game.

not all of them were 9.99.
I remember buying them for as little as 4 quid.

I already have a C64 set up next to my Wiis, but I guess this could save on loading times...

I'm always up for some Uridium lovin' as is the missus, so that'll be a must when it arrives. They better put up Uridium+ as well. Not too sure what else I'd be into buying though. Deffo Impossible Mission for the missus.
Maybe Epyx Winter Games, or Boulderdash.
I'd much rather see Amiga/ST stuff appearing though, sorry get it right here....St/Amiga :P

Summer Games II would go down well...as would Emlyn Hughes International Soccer...but not for that price! The majority of these games are under 100k in size. Unless Nintendo is paying massive royalties or licensing fees, it isn't costing them anything like that amount to provide the games to end users.

                              I'm talking 400% markup...probably more than that.
