I DLed the demo of space invaders extreme the other day. Really good fun - only got it cos it was small and free but really decent.

Funny, that was exactly my first thought when I saw the score. The N64 version only managed to garner a 5 so I guess you could argue that the series has been getting better over time

Not a bad score for SEGA Superstar Tennis either, really been looking forward to that one!

Gotta agree with Army of Two. I rented it over the weekend and after a hour or 2 of play have completely lost interest in it. It's going back to BB early!

Edge gave Melee a six but it still featured in their recent top 100 of all time. Obviously different people involved now.

SSBB looks the same as Melee to me, so I'm staying well away from that PoS.

The 5 for Condemned 2 is just wrong, every other review i've read has rated it 8 or higher.

In a word, yes.

It's proof that co-op can be done wrong and a horribly frustrating exercise in how to blow a lot of potential.

They've got money hats on for just about every release. It's pathetic really, they'll give anything a good score for a bit of exclusive footage and a backhander.

I agree that we shouldn't go down this road again, but I'll just correct the factual errors on EDGE's behalf...

They were one of the few critics who celebrated Manhunt - they gave it an 8. Unlike gTM who condemned it and gave it a low score. EDGE were especially praiseworthy of the game's art style and atmosphere.

EDGE did give GTA III 6/10 in the original review, but a month later, they offered a correction and stated that it was a typo. Whether you believe them or not, they gave it 8/10.

The others you mentioned didn't score too well, AFAIK. But, that certainly isn't sufficient evidence for the claim that they hate violent games. They don't like violence for violence sakes, but that's how it should be, to my mind.
