Halo was amazing for a couple of years in my life but since it has dipped for me. A few of the levels are just not good enough to be a perfect game for me sadly.

On a side note: this website has a Video Game Name Generator.

This website is for sale! norefuge.net is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, norefuge.net has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

Over on GR they have a thread where people take the names and explain what they would do with it...

        Some pretty funny combinations.

For me too. Well, almost. Only thing it doesn't have is replayability.

there are many "perfect" games, but for me, the perfect game is the game you never get tired off, and keeps you hooked for many, many months,
it's the game you pick up again after having played another game and can't stop playing it again for many many months... It's just a game you think is absolutely amazing and can't get enough off.

oh well, it's like Forza2 is for me, but maybe Halo3, Mario, Zelda or Gears for someone else....

Half life 2 is, in my opinion, the perfect game.

              Or Resi 4.

Even though I spent over a year slowly playing and replaying Ocarina of Time after its release and never got bored, I can see what you mean. Some games just don't work like that due to their nature. These days I treat Ocarina of Time a bit like a favourite, lengthy novel: something to revisit every few years and commit to seeing all the way through rather than something to be frequently picked up and chipped away at again and again. It's the game's tenth anniversary at the end of the year so it's time for another trip down memory lane.

Tetris is about as close to perfect as is possible. Anyone can play regardless of ability due to the finely judged difficulty curve and the easy to learn control scheme.

The games concept is so pure that nothing added or subtracted would improve the game by any useful amount. Fancy graphics are too distracting and the sound FX are basic becuase they don't need to be anything but. The soundtrack on the C64 version was IMHO the best of the lot but it gets lost on you quickly as you get engrossed in the game.
Modern frivolites like 1080p, on-line ranking etc. do nothing to enhance the gameplay.

I don't think there will ever be a perfect game that appeals to everyone who plays it. Halo was wonderful but people complained about the Library level.
Wii Sports seems universally popular but I find the boxing to be almost random and the tennis is poor.

                    Amen. Good call.

Mario Galaxy ain't perfect. Two things: the use of lives is an outdated trope that should be banished to the land of wind and rain, and the god awful underwater controls where having no control of the pissing camera leads to much cursing and gnashing of teeth. Oh, and unskippable cut scenes as well. Gah!
