new handheld from the GP2X family tree

not seen mention of this anywhere round here.

design looks quite nice and I'm a sucker for this kind of thing anyway, launch is meant to be around May time but seems a bit quiet on the news front on this for that to be plausible.

This is not actually made by GamePark, and is made by a team of "Fans" from the GP2x community,

    I think it's fugly tbh.

The price is a bit offputting for me, at £199

          Evil Dragon developing?

He was a right bitch to me once on GP32X.

Still, device looks cool. Worth a punt but not at ?200.

I think that considering the specs, £200 is a bargain. It will be like having a modded Xbox in your pocket.

              It's like an evil DS.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

The price is spot on considering the specs. While I'm not a fan of the design, I think it will probably be comfortable to use and at least it has a proper bloody d-pad, unlike the GP2X F200.

I probably won't take the plunge right away as I'm contented with the F200 for the time being, but I think it's a given that I'll be picking one of these up at some point. The power under the hood is incredible.

Oh yeah the price is fair for what it is, I just don't think I'd personally get £199 of use out of it, I think a GP2X will probably emulate the systems I want to play well enough for half the price and it's that I'd have bought it for.

I'm in no doubt that I'll end up with one of these anyway though, I'm a sucker for handhelds.

i have the gp2x but find the horrible flimsy stick really off putting when using it, if they can nail those specs with ds build quality it'd be a winner for me.

can't ever see it being mass appeal as most people couldn't be bothered to fanny around with setting each emu up.

Mass-market appeal is totally out of the question as you say, but for my the GP2X has been the greatest single piece of hardware I've ever purchased and I'm sure Pandora will eclipse that. PSX emulation is certainly possibly with those specs, plus whatever else those clever bedroom coders can come up with.

toythatkills is perfectly correct in saying that the GP2X offers almost as much appeal for half the price but there's always room for improvement. Sadly, it looks like we're not going to see 100% faithful SNES emulation on the GP2X so the Pandora could be the answer...obviously I'm not suggesting that we should pay £200 for a portable SNES but it would be a nice bonus.

I'm going to adopt a wait and see policy, as I said the F200 is keeping my happy for the time being.
