    importing from VG+

i hope this is in the right section.

ive been and bought myself a wii freeloader yesterday and am looking to get some NTSC games in for it. ive seen a lot of people talking about VC+ on here and have had a look at the website, but i was wondering what it was like buying fro them.

just looking for general info really like do's and dont's, delivery times, currency conversions and things like that.

They're a good source for games, used them a few times myself - not experienced any problems personally. Postage from them usually takes about 5-6 days, and they always seem to mark items down to avoid customs charges. Can't fault them as yet

Sure VG+ and www.tronixweb.com get 95% of the American importing business from members here, Tronix are quite a bit cheaper for (usual) 48 hour delivery, depends how impatient you are

Yeah, I like to stay loyal with VG+, been using them for years now, since before I even heard of this forum ().

But if you need something urgent then Tronix is definitely the way to go for good value 48 hour delivery.

            Yep!

I regularly get stuff from Tronix and use FedEx (I'm impatient lol). I have had to pay tax once in a while when doing this mind you - but generally speaking if you get just one game a time you can avoid this.

Was it via fiocco on ebay by any chance? thats how I first started using em, to get games like Zelda: Wind Breaker and Mario Kart Double Dash. Never used anyone else for US imports since.

cheers for the replies guys. what about paying for stuff from overseas?
i see VC+ have the option to calculate the order in £'s, is it best to work that way or in C$'s?
what happens when you pay, is there a conversion charge from the banks or the retailer?

also isn't there another big company who do imports, some Chinese (i think) company. i cant think of the name but they used to advertise on the virtual console review site.

I just work with £ on VG+ (which to echo are very reliable and ace site etc)

I think there is a conversion charge from banks, however its something like 0.5% to 2% i think, its very very small print infact i read it about 3 years ago so god knows, you can also use paypal with VG+ I think?

Bit of a thread hi-jack but where does everyone import their JPN games now, as play-asia and yes-asia are all not shipping to EU etc

All my import PSP (& some DS) games come from eBay. Although I do use PA every now & then for my DS puzzlers.

Does anyone know how long you have to wait before an item is declared as missing?
I preorderd Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis which they shipped on the 1st of april to me.
I normally get items from vg+ within 4-5 days but it will be 2 weeks this Tuesday coming since they shipped it and I?m getting kind of worried.
