Surely Halo is still the real powerhouse in that list, outselling the next console exclusive title by 3m and being beaten by the best selling multi format title by just 300k.

Well obviously, it's very impressive. But I never really considered COD4 to be as big as it is.

Even the casuals love CoD4. I work with a bloke who bought a 360 just to play CoD4 after seeing it on his brother's PC, and it's still the only game he's got.

i say good on all the casual games and tat in the list, gaming has been killing itself for years rehashing the same drivel and this may be the kick up the arse a lot of the 'creative talent' needs to try something different as the old crap aint selling like it used to.

in any artform there is always a ton of high selling drivel, that will never be eradicated. for the niche stuff to survive though it needs to be good, not just niche. many games people hail as classics on here to my taste just aren't actually any kop so don't deserve to sell many copies (not going to name them as this will then become a flame thread)
