    future Wii game highlights?

i've recently purchased a US Wii and instantly bought the 2 games i was keen to play on it: Metroid Prime Corruption and Mario Galaxy.

now i wonder what else i can expect from the Wii's future?

Never mind what's due out soon - you can get Ghost Squad now for frick's sake! It's AWESOME!

There's also a port of Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood coming out as a double pack, which could potentially be awesome provided the graphcis haven't taken too much of a hit and they haven't messed up the gameplay with Fisher-Price controls. I've heard it plays quite a lot like Metroid Prime 3 so it could be alright.

      Some from my memory:

      - Animal Crossing Wii
      - de Blob
      - Deadly Creatures
      - Disaster: Day of Crisis*
      - Fatal Frame IV (published by Nintendo, Grasshopper / Tecmo develops)
      - Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers
      - Fragile (JRPG from developers of Venus & Braves)
      - King's Story
      - Kirby Wii
      - Monster Hunter 3
      - Oboro Muramasa Youtouden
      - Rygar: the Legendary Adventures (remake of the original)
      - Sam n' Max: Season 1 (for Europe)
      - Samba de Amigo Wii
      - Steven Spielberg's Boom Blox (I thought this would be shovelware, but it has been praised by everyone who has got to play it)
      - Tales of the Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
      - The Sky Crawlers (WWII flight sim from Ace Combat team)
      - We Love Golf (Made by Camelot Soft. US & PAL-versions have online support)

      Strongly rumoured

      - Punch-Out!! Wii (Miyamoto hinted at it, probably made by Next Level Games)
      - Rayman 4 (platformer developed by Ancel, Wii exclusive)

      * If Nintendo is willing to sell 300 million dollars worth of stocks to get its hands on the developer, it is very good sign.

        Don't forget Smash Bros Brawl.

Reggie says Nintendo has a great second half of the year lined up but we won't know exactly what he's referring to until E3.

Smash Bros Brawl came bundled with the Wii - sold it instantly. it's just not my cup of tea.

          @MattyD
Ghost Squad is truly interesting and soooo cheap to get. also the Resident Evil shooter. i think i will get them both from VG+. but which gun should i go for?

          @elkatas
thanks for the list mate! Sam & Max sounds good, especially controlled with Wii remote. Sky Crawlers? never heard of it. any info or screens available?

i've also found "The Conduit", a FPS exclusively designed for Wii: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/867/867498p1.html

Game is license tie-in to a anime movie of same name, which will be directed by Mamoru Oshii*. In addition of directing the movie, Oshii personally supervises game's development. As all of the Oshii's movies get international distribution, there is fair chance that game also gets western release.

            * Probably best known for directing Angel's Egg, Patlabor, and Ghost in the Shell

Looks very nice. It'll never look that nice on my TV, but still. Even through progressive scan, my Wii picture looks arse

Unfortunately they don't have a publisher yet. Most publishers claim that "Mature games can't succeed on Wii". When questioned about over 2.5 million sold Resident Evil games or how Red Steel sold over 1.3 million, spin goes in following way "Resident Evil had already established fanbase on Wii" and "Red Steel was a launch game".

This was discussed in the First Play thread just the other day. If you want to play it using the on-screen cursor, get the official Nintendo Zapper. If you want to turn the aiming cursor off and aim properly like a 'real' gun ( ) the Nyko one is supposed to be quite good.

Me, I'm holding out for a cheap third-party G36 shell with a slot for the Wii remote in the handguard In my dreams!

There seems to be a disappointing lack of information about this, suggesting it's *ages* off.

Wasn't this supposed to be out here in PAL-land last month? Still, I'm not sure I want it without maracas anyway.

It's slated for this fiscal year (ending march 2009). Iwata himself has said during investor Q/A that he doesn't believe in big hype cycles, or early unveilings. Instead of these, Nintendo's current strategy is to start really push game few weeks before its launch. And this has been certainly true. More than few games have been announced, but after the announcement, it has taken months (in some cases even year) before we have heard more of them.

Ah, that's ok then. I generally get quite pissed off with full speed hype machines anyway. It was the lack of *any* real information that had me concerned about a release in the near future.

I'm really looking forward to AC Wii if they get the online stuff right. I can see it being a pay to play online title, and full of micro-transaction DLC for new furniture items, clothes, etc. If so, I just hope they don't screw us too much with the pricing.

Nintendo will unveil its Q3-Q4 lineup in E3. You can bet that AC will be there.

YAWN... thank god for the rumor mill:

                            NINTENDO
Pilotwings (Lacking 'official' announcement but generally accepted as coming)

                            Mario Super Sluggers (Officially Confirmed)

Kirby Wii (Already Mentioned But Come On... Kirby!)

Kid Icarus? (Rumored after the recent cameo in Smash Bros. - wouldn't hold your breath)

                            CAPCOM
Street Fighter IV? (As far as I know still no announcements on format yet, PS3 is a no brainer, XBox360 could go either way but Capcom have said they are definitely looking at bringing it to Wii, will be 10x better on PS3 though)

Resident Evil 0 (Confirmed for Japan-only but likely to go to the states at some point)

                            SEGA

Sonic Unleashed (Was leaked a while back, new 2.5D Sonic game? Interesting, but good enough to erase the memory of every Sonic game since the mid-ninties? Time will tell, probably be better on PS3 anyway...)

Untitled Racer/s? (Sega mentioned a while back they're aiming to bring some racers to the Wii, apparently they see a gap in the Wii's line-up, a new Daytona will be top of everyone's wishlist but I'd expect original properties, saying that...)

Initial D (The anime's creator mentioned recently that Sega want to take the franchise in a new direction and he was consulted about it so 2 + 2 = Initial Wii?)

Space Channel 5/Jet Set Radio? (This is just me speculating but Tetsuya Mizuguchi mentioned something about SC5 while talking about Rez HD, Sega politely informed him that they own the image rights to Ulala and now a Japanese company will be releasing 'official' Space Channel 5 merchandise, with Samba De Amigo, Get Bass, and House of the Dead already released, these games wouldn't shock me, Sega Superstar Tennis showed the franchises are not forgotten)

                            NAMCO/BANDAI
Soul Calibur Legends (This might already be out, not sure, the franchise ended on the Dreamcast for me. Soul Calibur 4 on PS3 will be a better game anyway)

Untitled Fighter/s (Similar to Sega with Racers, Namco mentioned plans to bring more fighters to Wii)

Mario Super Sluggers: Slated for June in USA, no European date. I don't have much faith for this title, because first game was broken, and this is once again developed by Namco. So far as I have understood, you can't even control where ball is thrown.

Kid Icarus: I guess this is pretty much confirmed. IGN has hinted to it during their podcast, and Cassamina went so far that saying that it is graphically impressive, but gameplay aspects worry him thanks to developer's spotty track record on that side. This probably means that it is developed by Factor 5. Oh well, if this is true, we will at least see how Pit will entangle elephants with cables.

Kirby Wii: Slated for this fiscal year. Game has been on development hell for four years, and I really wonder how it looks currently.

Pilotwings: If rumours and distributor lists are to believe, this is the july title together with Disaster: Day of Crisis.

Soul Calibur: Released last christmas, this game was utter garbage. You don't really want to play it. Trust me.

Sonic Unleashed: According to SEGA Europe, Wii is the lead platform for the title. Considering the blue hedgehog's current state, I'm cautiously optimistic for this title.

Street Fighter IV: Rumoured by japanese gaming magazines. Wouldn't be surprising considering that producer has publicly stated that they are going to bring game to so many possible platforms as possible.

                              ------------

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Treasure has said it has two Wii titles under work. One is probably done together with Nintendo.
