Rival Turf was a huge childhood fave of mine.

I got it because me and my mate loved final fight but it didn't have any co-op.

So I got this and we both loved it. We even had all names for the characters based on our school chums.

I'm gonna get it going on the emulator. I still have it mint and boxed in the loft though!

      Tokyo Extreme Racer...or possibly X-treme...I can't remember.

It was on PS2, and was massively repetitive and had awful handling. Yet I kind of loved it...the grey setting and snail-like pace of it struck a chord for some reason. The cars all looked ace in a really naff sort of way...and it had a calming, nocturnal quality.

Also, Thrasher: Skate and Destroy. Me and my skating buddies disliked the unrealistic nature of the Hawk...so it was a treat to play a game where even the simplest trick was a multi-button combo. The great ragdoll physics were a plus, too. I genuinely thought it was a great game...but it got slated everywhere....so.....
