I watched someone else play it.

    I think that's a fair comment, yes.

I played it for an hour round a mates at the weekend, I was in utter shock at the fact that the same stick was used for walking forwards/backwards AND turning. >_<

Maybe the reason for the inconsistant hype features is because they're written by different writers, so you'll get different niggles with the game by each writer.

You mean where they review a book?

I hadn't even noticed its absence.

Yeah. Quite fond of that bit for some reason. The first thing I read, along with Edge's Most Played.

By the by; does anyone know if when you subscribe to Edge, they still send you a box thingy to store the magazines in? I've got a few now, and it'd be nice to have somewhere to put the few mags that I have, aswell as the special edition Edge's that come around every now and again.

No, I don't think so; they were one of the subscriber offers a few years ago - in between T-shirts. The latest T-shirt offer is a rather snazzy Lemmings degisn, though.

ohhh, I would've subscribed if they did. Anyway, thankyou very much for the reply.

After reading Edge for a while, and the most recent one. I've realised the amount of words used in their writing that i've never heard of; making me get up and grab the old dictionary.

I mean, I know it's a very sophistacated way of writing in Edge; it allways has been. But sometimes it really feels like they've just written the whole magazine with a theosauras next to them. When I read Edge; I end up reading more of the dictionary.

                      Anyone else notice this?

Yes, I often think that is part of Edge's whole prententious facade.

Not so much noticed that, but they do seem to me to write in cheesy metaphors as part of their "gaming is culture" wanky verbal diarrhea. The best example I can think of is when they reviewed Outrun 2006 on PSP. Other magazines would have written "This has great visuals and feels like the Sega of old" whereas Edge put it as "a gorgeous gift to the hardware's often neglected display and an idyllic blast of Sega-branded fresh air".

Some words like Onus, attritional, treatise, venality, laryngeal, encroaching are just a few words that i've learnt recently. I guess it's good that I'm looking to find out the definitions of new words and expanding my vocabulary. But sometimes I don't believe a normal writer would be able to use such complicated words in such a small article without re-reading it, and looking through a theosauras to replace standard, common words.

It's nice to then go and read Gamestm; wich includes words which I am able to understand what they're saying.

                            Damn Edge and their onus'.

I don't actually think they're as bad for that as they used to be. They have content and present it in a wanky way but there was a period many years ago when they had just the wankiness without the content. I used to wonder if they actually played games.

I'm glad I wasn't reading it back then, from the sounds of it.

I believe at one time Edge got quite annoying with some of their articles and features a few years ago. But then someone else took over as head guy, and now they're much better and have interesting articles.

I do enjoy Edge - it's the only Game magazine I buy - and find it interesting to read. But sometimes I don't know what they're going on about apart from their scoring system (which in my opinion has normally been good. Obviously in my opinion). I need it in laymens terms: 'This game is good/bad'
