I've been waiting for this to come out here for awhile now but it looks like we have to wait until October, it doesnt look too import friendly as almost everything is in Japanese.
Love the look of the Canvas engine.

Oh my. That looks fantastic, i didn't realise you actually moved units in real time. The graphical style is lovely to look at and thankfully it looks like its going to play amazing as well.

It's not impossible but development actually started on the 360 but they decided that it was more suited to the PS3.

Not sure what they meant. Perhaps because it was designed for the Japanese market?

EDIT:

Forthcoming PS3 RPG Valkyria Chronicles started out life as a 360 game, one of its developers has revealed.

The revelation was made in a blog post by a developer who worked on the game during its initial stages.

According to the post, Valkyria Chronicles was initially supposed to appear on the 360, before being switched over to the PlayStation 3. So the developer also writes, the game has been in development for three years now.

My limited edition copy of this ships on Monday from Japan after I found someone willing to order a copy for me. I had been on a pre-order list elsewhere but supplies were not meeting demand.



I'll start a first play thread as soon as it arrives. This is the game I wanted as soon as the first images came out.
